To this d...My mohter always made me drink hot tea. To this day I consider tea to be "medicine". But, my Mammaw started every day with a pot of tea and lived to be 89.<br /><br />When I got the crud last month nothing was working. I resorted to hot tea, lemon and honey - heavy on the lemon. If my cough got too bad I switched the tea to bourbon but kept the honey and lemon and as hot as I could stand it. It did help a lot.<br /><br />Lots of fluids. Chicken soup really does have some healing properties. I drink it every couple of hours to start and then less as I feel better. Room temp water tastes the best to me and I just chug it all down so I only have to taste it once. The purpose is to balance your body's PH and make it more alkaline, which is an environment in which viruses cannot survive. I originally got the tip from an old Edgar Cayce book.
