Paisley Park Preview

Paisley Park is Just Around the Corner!

Here at KTQ, we're anxiously awaiting the arrival of my newest fabric line, Paisley Park. It's featured in the Rustic Stars quilt on the cover of American Patchwork & Quilting magazine and in several projects we're offering starting with Moda's precuts. The rich autumn hues and paisley prints are the perfect mix for your home and holiday gifts.  Here's a look at one of my favorites using just one Jelly RollTM - Paisley Party.

Grab a Jelly RollTM and transform your strips into 3 great projects to give
or keep! Two runners and a pillow sleeve make playing with precuts
a breeze. The warm, rich colors provide the perfect backdrop
for your table centerpiece in our  Paisley Border runner. The flip 'n sew,
quilt-as-you-go method make it fast & easy, too! Embellish with
paisley applique, pick your own motif, or leave it plain for
year-round appeal.

I love the feature fabric in my Paisley Park collection
so much I turned it into an applique motif.
Light JR strips are the background for Bloomin' Paisleys.

Leftover strips from the runner stitched together to make a simple pillow
sleeve with panache. OR, piece 3 pillow sleeves from one JR to share.
Love paisley parints? Comment here to win a Paisley Party pattern & Jelly Roll. You'll be well on your way to a trio of delightful accents for your home.

Watch for the Moda Designer Blog Hop beginning September 3rd for piles of giveaways from all your favorite Moda designers!

Kansas Troubles Fans Create Beautiful Quilts

KT Brag Book

I receive many pictures of quilts using KT fabrics and others using my patterns with a totally different color pallette - I love them all! Please send your KT project pics to me at lynnedesigner@ktquilts.com and I'll post them on my blog in the future. Here are a few I've received lately.....
My Rustic Stars quilt is a hit! Moda has agreed to reprint that yummy
navy paisley border so we can make even more kits.
But don't delay, call today, because we'll have to stop soon!

This is Cheri Tye's version of my Rustic Stars quilt on the cover of APQ
magazine (October issue). Oh. My. Goodness! I love how modern it looks
in creams/teals and that gorgeous brown border. And she just started
it a couple weeks ago after staying at the KT Retreat. Great job, Cheri!

Closeup view of Cheri's blocks/border.

Randy Kooken shared these 3 cool KT Jelly Roll projects for his bedroom.
I love that he took up quilting to share a hobby with his wife.

Jane Licata made this delightful red/tan/blue version of Aleece's
Charming Stars from my new book, Layers of Love.
A charm & mini charm from Minick & Simpson was the
inspiration. Love it, Jane!

For all you applique addicts out there, how about this beauty by
Gina Blanchard. Wow! What a lovely quilt, Gina. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks to all the quilters who shared their quilts with us. So inspirational! Check in next week for all the new Paisley Park projects and Moda's Designer Blog Hop coming up in September.

Jamie still hasn't heard from week #6 & 7 winners - Redfinch and Deb from Loma, CO. If you know either of these lovely ladies, please let them know they're winners!

Layers of Love

I'm sooooo excited about the release of our newest book featuring my unique layered patchwork technique! We've waited the entire summer and it's finally here! If you've been following my blog the past 9 weeks, you've gotten a sneak peak of the major projects in the book. Here are few more of the home dec pillows and runners that are also included.

Add 2 mini charm packs to 5 strips of
background for the fastest runner ever!

Click here for my tutorial with Jenny Doan of Missouri Star Quilt Co.

A few scraps of wool come together
for an adorable pincushion.
I always enjoy a little hand stitching
 in the evenings while spending
 "quality time" with Robert.
Thanks so much to everyone who's visited my blog during the Layers of Love 9 week marathon.

Layers of Love Preview Week #9

Layers of Love Week #8 Winner

Congrats to Allison. You're the winner this week of a Layers of Love book. Thanks to everyone for their support and lovely comments on the APQ article and the Rustic Stars quilt. We've been deluged with phone calls this week from eager quilters ordering the kit. If you're interested, please call soon since we have a limited number of kits that are available with the original fabrics. We will continue to kit the quilt similarly, but the paisley border is in short supply.

Layers of Love Preview #9 - Chasing Eli

Eli is the youngest of our granchildren - until September when his Mom is due with a little brother to keep him even busier. There's no denying from the twinkle in his eye that he'll figure out a way to stay one step ahead of anyone who's trying to rein him in. The goose chase block seemed the perfect fit for our youngest little star.

Have you ever had trouble keeping the background rectangle square or losing the points on your flying geese blocks? My easy solution is to layer a triangle on top of a rectangle and stitch, as shown below. Using our layered patchwork technique, you'll be sewing rows of rectangles in perfect rows that just happen to have triangles on top - no cut off points! Even the star point units are made the same way.

This project first appeared several years ago in one of Primitive Quilts first issues.
I've had requests for the pattern since and loved the idea of adding
another colorway and a runner to the mix.

With a birthday close to the 4th of July, I just had to make this in red, tan, blue!
I hope you enjoyed this preview of Layers of Love. The book is now on our website as well as the Honeycomb Ruler for the hexagon projects in the book. We will have books in hand the first of next week and will begin shipping as soon as we can. Comment for just one more chance to win a Layers of Love book.

Watch for my tutorials with Jenny Doan of Missouri Star Quilt Co coming soon featuring several of the projects from the book.
