Blockheads II

Week #44 - Candy Stripper by Vanessa Goertzen of Lella Boutique

When I make so many diverse blocks for a sampler quilt, as with our Blockheads II project, I like that Vanessa's simple 12" checkerboard & stripe block can be used in a corner or between busier blocks for a visual resting place. Easy to make and easy on the eyes. Done in my new KT Favorites III red/tan/blues, I'm loving it!

More On Meadowlark Pond

KT Winner

Congratulations to the winner of our KT fat quarter 8-pack!

T Holzer - I don't have a whole lot of fat quarters, but when I visit a quilt shop and I'm not really "buying" that day, I try to buy 4 FQs to support the store. I just buy what I love so I have the most KT FQs! When I get home, I fold them all the same...quartered both width and length wise and then they get stored according to colour. They are all stacked in a glass curio cabinet and I can always see what I have. But the bad thing for me and FQs is that once I buy them, I don't want to sew with them!!! I want to collect and keep them!!! Thanks so much for this chance.
Thanks for commenting. I totally agree with you - it's hard to cut into fat quarters. They look so good all tied up in stacks! I save a fat quarter bundle of each fabric line I design and swear I won't cut into them - no matter what. Just a few have a small square out of one corner when I was desperate. Maybe I need to save two fat quarter bundles!

I didn't have a chance to post while we were traveling, so we also have a winner of the new Meadowlark's Song pattern. Congrats to:
Lorna Weber - The new pattern is lovely. It showcases your new fabrics perfectly. I will be looking for these locally in the next few weeks. Thanks for sharing.

Please send your shipping address to lynne@ktquilts.com and Robert will send it right out. Enjoy your pattern and check out the other designs available below.

On Meadowlark Pond is almost here!

We're rather impatiently waiting for my new spring collection, On Meadowlark Pond, to arrive. The weather in Kansas is still cold and icy, but I'm ready for some spring sewing, how about you?

The Meadowlark's Song quilt is shown above, featuring a Layer Cake and traditional piecing instructions. I also designed a Jelly Roll project called Bird Watching that can be made using my Layered Patchwork technique or traditional piecing in scrappy or red colorways.

Our charm pattern for this line is Meadowlark Baskets. Cute little baskets traditionally pieced sport fused bias handles for easier construction. A charm plus a few fabrics is all you need to have a spring-y accent for your home.

If you want to be one of the first on your block to get a piece of On Meadowlark Pond, join our KT Collector's Club. You'll receive 6 fat quarters of assorted colors and prints from the collection, a mini charm pack, and the charm pattern for only $25 postage paid (that's a $28.50 value!). We're assembling our club packs now, so call the store and sign up today! 785-488-2120

Comment to win a charm pack and the new Meadowlark Baskets pattern. Share with us your thoughts on precuts such as charms, Layer Cakes and Jelly Rolls - love them? collect them? search for patterns especially for them? I'd love to hear from you.

Moda Blockheads II

Block #43 - Mosaic by Brigitte Heitland

An cool take on the square-in-a-square block. Easy piecing shows off your favorite fabric or some fussy cutting in the center square, if you like. I opted for more red/tan/blues with a feature print in the center. I might make more of these to scatter around my quilt.

Find the instructions for Mosaic on Brigitte's blog HERE.
