KT Winner(s)
Congratulations to:
Terry G. - I can't choose between the Cactus Star and the original Rustic Star, so . . . . both??!?!?
you're the winner of the Prairie Cactus booklet this week.
We still have a couple of unclaimed giveaways from last month, too. On May 16th, Kathy H won a bowl full of my fabric acorns, and on May 30th, Donna W won a set of KT Diamond templates. If you know either of these ladies, please have them contact us. We'll be re-giving-away unclaimed items the end of summer.
Gems of the Prairie, Peoria, IL
Thanks so much to the lovely ladies of Peoria, IL with the Gems of the Prairie Quilt Guild. Robert and I enjoyed our time with them the first week of June. Here's a look at some of the KT projects I shared in the workshops featuring my layered patchwork technique.Makin' Honey Mini in Bees 'n Blooms booklet |
Having a good laugh during the Makin' Honey class. |
Delainey's Twirls & Swirls from Layers of Love book |
I LOVED all the color options the quilters brought to class. And see how much they completed in just a few hours! |
Clara's Raised Bed Garden using our KT Wedge template. |
Delightful ladies, delightful blocks. Everyone had a good start on this lap size quilt or finished the runner. |
Do enjoy workshops? What is your goal when taking a quilting class? What was the last class you took and what did you learn?
Comment this week to win your choice of any one of the above patterns - Bees 'n Blooms, Layers of Love or Clara's Garden.
Watch next week when we'll reveal our RowxRow Home Sweet Home row for Summer 2016.
I love to learn new techniques and meet new people. Classes give me both.
ReplyDeleteI love to learn new techniques and meet new people. Classes give me both.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love taking workshops. During one, I want to learn more than one new technique. Of course, sewing with friends or meeting new friends is absolutely great. My last class was in March when I joined Lynne and Jenny Doan on their cruise. In Lynne’s class, I learned the layered patchwork process, which was brand new to me. Cruising and learning – now that is a class to remember!!!
ReplyDeleteThe last class I took was for free motion quilting. My goal was to improve FMQ using my domestic sewing machine. Love all the Layers of Love quilts.
ReplyDeleteI love workshops/classes. In the beginning of my quilting journey, it was simply to learn the very basics. Now (I don't get to take any right now due to military life), I would take a class most likely for the fellowship and motivation that sewing with others gives to the quilter. I also pick and choose if there's a new technique that I see that I really want to learn. :)

ReplyDeleteI love workshops because it's a chance to learn new techniques and make new friends. I'm signed up for a ufo class beginning next week. I can't wait to see what everyone is making. I really love Clara's Garden and can't wait to make a quilt like the one the ladies in the guild made.
ReplyDeleteI have never been to a quilting workshop or retreat! Oh, how I would love to go! I still have children at home and it is hard for me to get away so I am very thankful for the many quilting blogs that offer tutorials. I have really learned a lot from those. I love Delainey's Twirls and Swirls from the Layers of Love book----beautiful, and I can see it in any type of fabric!
ReplyDeleteI do like workshops but since I still work full-time it's not always easy to get to attend. Love learning new techniques and honing my skills.
ReplyDeleteI love workshops because it gives me a chance to learn about so many things. I have been known to skip school (I'm a teacher) to attend quilt camp or to go on a shop hop! Don't tell! Love the Twirls and Swirls quilt!

ReplyDeleteI wish I could attend a workshop with you! They look like so much fun, and all that expertise around you for questions! It's definitely on my bucket list!
ReplyDeleteI have never taken a quilting class or attended a workshop. I am hoping to do that when I can finally retire from my job. Thanks for the generous giveaway. I love all your patterns and fabric.
ReplyDeleteI like to learn new techniques from the teacher. Teachers often have valuable tips that are not in a pattern/book.
ReplyDeleteThe only classes I have taken were for FMQ. I would like to take more but life happens and taking classes will someday also. I enjoy classes for the "why didn't I think of that" moment. I work in a small town library and have taught classes in cross stitch, sewing, and am in the process of planning a class in string quilting. Knowledge is power and sharing that knowledge is a gift to student and teacher. Thanks for teaching, Lynne. Sorry I missed you in Peoria!
ReplyDeleteI like to take workshops to learn new more difficult techniques. Each new quilt I make is harder than the last. I like a challenge. Unfortunately the shops in my area just keep offering the same old simple classes. So I figure most of it out myself by studying the pattern, books, youtube or researching on internet.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed meeting Lynn and taking one of her classes in Peoria. Please come back again. Cindy
ReplyDeleteIt would be so fun to take a class with you. Perhaps, I need to save for a cruise event. Everyone in the pictures looks happy.
ReplyDeleteI have only taken one class when I first started quilting. I would love to take a workshop and learn more! I love your pictures - what great quilt tops everyone made!
ReplyDeleteMy goal when taking classes is to learn different techniques and lead to bigger and better projects. I have taken two classes one a beginner 101 class, I knew nothing but came home with lots of knowledge and wanting to learn more. The second class I took was a hand stitching class the thing that got me most excited was...I learned to make and knot easily and correctly.
ReplyDeleteI'm not well enough to take classes or workshops in person, but I've taken a few craftsy classes, my goal was to learn new techniques. The most recent was about different types of sashing, I got several new ideas, like making the corner stones into stars.

I like to take workshops to learn new techniques and spend time with my quilty friends. The last class I attended was taught by Deanne Eisenman of Snuggle Quilts--fun day!
ReplyDeleteI have never been able to fit a workshop into my crazy schedule, but someday I definitely want to. Your blog always makes them look like so much fun. Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteI try to take a class that introduces a new technique to me. The last class I did was a color wave quilt Enjoyed it. Love your materials and would love to take one of your classes.
ReplyDeleteYour patterns and colors are so me! Finally a designer I can relate too!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your class in Pigeon forge. The new line is awesome. kweather78@aol.com
ReplyDeleteThe last workshops I did were with you in Pigeon Forge. I learned a ton since I had never seen anything like your piecing technique. My Cooper's Crossing quilt is at the quilter right now and I haven't done much with my Clara's Garden since class but it's coming up soon. While I already have all of the patterns you mentioned as this weeks prize, I just wanted you to know how much I enjoy anything and everything from KT. You are awesome. I can't wait to start my bees and blooms. So many projects, so little time.
