Gmama Jane -Your color combos are always a favorite with me & my family. It's hard to choose but I think I'll choose the blue & tan combo however I'm not choosy if I were to happen to be the lucky WINNER!! THANK YOU for the inspiration, the quilt patterns and giveaway!!

Clean Sweep

I'm STILL sorting thru all the fabrics from the past year's projects - and some from even earlier. PLEASE help me out by commenting below so I know all the leftovers will go to a good home :).

First up, assorted fall fabrics scraps from Oak Haven and Harvest Hill. Need some bits and pieces to add to a scrappy quilt? I know just the place for some scrappy inspiration - Oh Scrap! by Lissa Alexander. Lissa is the brains behind many of the wonderful things happening at Moda. It's her first book with Martingale and it's a sure fire winner!

I have several projects marked for my next quilting retreat. Now I better start planning my getaway. Anyone know of a great place to retreat and sew?

  5. Even with a badly broken ankle, I finished my son's wedding quilt on time. It was made of KT fabric--oh how I loved that quilt and it was hard to give it to them---but I can always make another! Right? His fav color is dark green and I used lots of fabrics....

  6. Oh, yes, please, I would love to give those scraps a home! I do so much better using scraps than cutting into yardage! Thanks so much for offering.

  10. What a great combination: your fabric and "Oh Scrap!". You could just work your way through it, and if you do, please keep us updated. I'd love to see those quilts. :)

  11. Your fabric is my favorite, but in flannel it is out of this world. I too would rather use scraps than to cut into yardage. As for retreats, a big beautiful log home in the Pennsylvania woods, in the fall as the leaves are turning.

  12. I could use the scraps for either of two (Okay, maybe three) projects I am working on now - Moda Block Heads 2 (and trying to finish up blocks for Moda Block Heads 1) and for Eleanor Burns 40th Anniversary quilt. They would definitely be put to good use! Thanks for the chance to add some scraps to my scrap stash.

  13. I can’t even tell you how my heart skipped a beat when I saw those fall scraps. I’m a scrapster through and through. I used some of those lines pictured to make a quilt for a much beloved past president of our guild. It makes me glow just thinking about it.

  14. Love those scraps. I do a lot of applique and I rely on scraps of all colors. Those scraps would make a beautiful fall or winter themed quilt, and they are all colors I am sorely lacking in.

  15. I so love your fabrics and the way that your colors stay true from one pattern line to another. It allows me to use your fabrics in many quilts without having to worry about matching colors. You have already done that for me. Just imagining what I could do with a box of your scraps. Wow!!

  34. The colors & prints are perfect for flannels but right now even in air conditioning it’s just too HOT & muggy to work with flannel for me. Hopefully with Sept & school starting, cooler temps will come. As to a new retreat spot, come East. A nice spot would be Sandy Cove Camp. Water views.

  58. Favorite quilts are scrappy. I feel so virtuous making scrap quilts cause I can tell my husband that they didn't cost anything and he'll let me buy more fabric! Since Blockhead I I've been collecting more traditional colors and fabrics but I don't have near enough and I'm finding I really love your lines. Thanks.

  59. I love to use scraps. Waste not want not is what I always say. I never throw anything away if I think I can use it. My kids say I’m a hoarder.
But you would be surprised how many times those scraps and leftovers help make someone something new.

  60. I usually retreat in Columbia IL at Todd Hall. It's nice, a bit rustic with no TVs (but they do have WiFi!). Love it! I also like to retreat in Mascoutah IL at the Visitors Center. We reserve that space for daytime only sewing for 3-day weekends. Nice that we can leave our machines all sew up and not worry about them overnight. Next month I'm going for the first time to a Kentucky nunnery for a 5-day retreat. My friends tell me it's wonderful. There's another retreat center I'd love to try -- KT Retreat Center! Maybe one of these days!

  61. I just love your fabric collections! I liked the video you did with Jenny Doan with the five and dime ruler. I might try that quilt if I won your scraps.

  62. To answer your question about a good place to retreat and sew.. locally it's our RV where it is parked at "R Ranch In The Mountains" Dahlonega, Ga.. In the future KT retreat would be fantastic and is on my list!!! In the past was on a ship called "Allure of the Seas" with high seas back in March with you 3 wonderful ladies! We still sewed even with the waves didn't we? I see you are all going again, I'll be at home and sewing here! As for your scraps?? I have a place for them! *G* Lisa

  63. My mom, her mother, and I went on a trip last September to a town in Vermont and stayed in an old Victorian B&B that was beautiful, especially at that time of year. We were able to visit the local quilt shops, and they taught me the basic stitches necessary to piece the raccoon that's now standing on my wall! Anyways, I'd love some scraps as I don't have many. Your fall colors are my favorite around, and the oak leaves remind me of the street on which I grew up. Thanks for sharing your designs!

  64. I really like looking at your blog for ideas and tips. I am new to Moda Blockheads and I am learning some great new techniques each week and my machine quilting is improving as well. I have been a hand quilter since 1999.

    ReplyDelete
  65. It is so kind of you to share with us! As someone who has been hand quilting and sewing for only 3-4 years, the idea of adding to my stash would be quite a blessing! Your fabrics? Even better..... I love your fabric lines, especially the flannels and watch for the new ones to be released so I can get them before they are gone! Thank you so much for your kindness.

  66. Just retired after teaching 38 years! Would love to receive more fabric to quilt, quilt, quilt!!! Never had the real opportunity to quilt much while I was teaching so I plan on doing something that I love a lot more!!! Your fabrics are always so lovely.

  67. I can't imagine any better retreat place than right there atop the quilt store in Bennington Kansas.
My quilting buddies and I have retreated in many wonderful places--Medora North Dakota, Sisters Oregon, Kansas City, etc and our favorite is your retreat Center right there above the quilt shop. If only we could manage to move closer (the 1000 miles is a bit far , but well worth the trip) I recommend staying as long as they will let you!!!!
