Finally, relief!

Sunday afternoon saw a high of just 88 degrees here - refreshingly cool after blistering heat over 100 for the past few weeks. Robert and I sat outside under the tree admiring all our hard work. Let me tell you, starting a garden from scratch in this heat is not for wimps, altho we certainly felt that way on several occasions.

Note the trailer full of tree chunks. That's the next project. Stay tuned to see the results.

Congratulations to Kim Ray and scottylover. We've selecting two winners this week since I fell down on the job - again - and didn't get around to posting last week. Hope that makes up for it. :) Between grankids coming and going (but mainly staying), editing the new fabric lines, fireworks, birthday parties and preparing for pictures, I didn't know if I was coming or going the past couple weeks. It's all finally coming together so I can take a deep breath and work on the final pages of the book.

This week's giveaway is for the new Harvest Moon MTT pattern/kit.

Comment here by next Monday night and we'll see who wins. Thanks for checking in on me. Lots of new junk to come this summer.
Lynne

  2. It' cooler here too. The thermometer said 84 F today, so much better than the 100+ days we have had since early July. Even with the air conditioning, my brain was melting.

  3. I know how you feel, we are finally getting a break from the humidity, so hopefully I can get the rest of my plants in this week. Wonderful time to start a fall project and think cool.

  5. Kind of sad when temps in the 80s feels cool. We haven't had those high temps here in New Hampshire but anything in the 80s is too high for me. I always say I'm going to retire to Canada-I live for the fall and winter! The garden around your tree is beautiful; I can't believe you did it in that heat. Love the pattern - acorns are my favorite motif.

  31. I agree this summer heat is unbearable. You need to be thankful you are not in southern Alabama. The heat index here has been as high as 105-108 these past two weeks. Prayerfully this week will bring the much needed rain and cool things down a bit. You never have to apologize to us readers that you took a week off to enjoy LIFE! We totally understand! And during a major holiday we are just as busy too! PS - We do miss you though!

I am sitting in the cool air sewing four quilts made with Cattails and Clover charm packs and layer cakes, working on the Underground Railroad made with Cattails and Clover fabric and staring at a jacket that needs to be finished, also made of Cattails and Clover. It would be a delight to add your pattern to my sewing frenzy.

Love the harvest moon collection. We have a new convention place called barn at harvest moon pond located 2miles down the road from us. Wonderful place for receptions. Old barn that had been updated but still has a lot of charm. Love the countryside and all it has to offer.
