Day at the Park
Our Paisley Park Preview was happily interrupted by the Moda Love Blog Tour. I hope you all had a chance to visit the other designers' blogs to learn more about their fabric collections and what they all love about quilting. I enjoy discovering a few little secrets about these talented women I see only twice a year at market. So fun! Now, for the final project from our Paisley Park collection - our Day at the Park charm quilt. For each KT fabric line, I challenge myself to create a simple quilt using just one charm pack plus a couple extra fabrics for a fast & easy project. Whether a wall quilt, table runner or pair of pillows, my charm-ing inspirations provide lots of options for your home decor or gift giving throughout the year. For example, Day at the Park requires a charm pack, mini charm pack plus 2 fabrics for borders - kit price, including pattern, is only $29.88!
The Day at the Park quilt was inspired by a brick path in our favorite park that meanders past flower gardens, fountains and bird baths to a bench hidden under a blooming trellis. A lovely spot for an impromptu picnic lunch. Love it! I could see the brick work as charm squares and took a picture to remind me of it's pattern. Look around you - inspiration is everywhere!
By starting with 2 precuts, your project is half done. Piece traditiional half square triangle blocks from assorted charm squares. Cut a mini charm into fourths, then layer two of those squares on opposite corners of bias squares and stitch. So easy!
Play with the blocks as you're laying them out - there are several ways to create even more designs!
Comment here about your favorite spot for a relaxing lunch (or dinner or snack) to win a Paisley Park charm pack and our Day at the Park pattern. See you next Monday!
My favorite spot for lunch is on my front porch. I love it there :-) The dogs can run around in the yard and I can enjoy the view of the trees and birds. Your Day in the Park is really a lovely pattern and a great way to use those fun precuts.

My favorite spot is at a little shelter house by the river in a nearby town that sits along the edge of the Missouri River. The picnic area is just a block from Main Street, yet is a quiet and peaceful place to eat and enjoy the river view.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite spot for outside lunches and evening BBQs is on my patio looking across our avocado orchard and out to sea. We have wonderful coastal views and are so lucky they can't be blocked by anyone or anything

ReplyDeleteMore fabulous designs! I have a nice spot outside where I have my freshly painted red wrought iron table and chairs, the birds are always lovely to watch.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy relaxing with a snack or a peach tea out in our gazebo. That also gives me a chance to admire my flowers in the garden.

My favorite place to eat and relax in the deck of the cabin my parents had when I was growing up...the only sounds were the wind in the pines, the call of chickadees and the occasional hunting hawk! Just perfect!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite place to relax for lunch or dinner is at my kitchen table. I can watch tv or listen to music, whatever I like.

Simple designs are all the best.
ReplyDeleteLove to have lunch with my quilty friends, never matters where!
This was a tough question! :) In reflecting, sadly enough, I don't take the time to really, really sit and enjoy lunch. It's sort of a last minute ordeal here at our house, so it's not all that relaxing. But one thing we do is "tea time" a few evenings per month. We have my husband's grandmother's old china set that she never used. That set included a tea set, so we've started a new thing where hubby makes the tea and we sit around the table together and enjoy sipping tea from the cute little china tea cups. :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite place to relax for breakfast, lunch or dinner is my very own patio in my back yard.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy having lunch with my DH on our front porch. We usually eat out there every day, except when the weather gets too cold.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite place for lunch is in the Great Smoky Mountains!
ReplyDeleteNow that the weather is cooling down, I plan on packing a nice dinner and eating it in the foothills of the mountains near us - then hubby & I will go hiking afterwards - FUN!
ReplyDeleteI just got an email from my LQS stating that they have received this new fabric line - I LOVE paisley so I have to go check it out!

ReplyDeleteLove to relax when spending time with my hubby. We take pic nics in the country, share snacks while hunting, and always have a nice dinner together at home. Best friends!
ReplyDeleteOh I just love this fabric line! My favorite place for lunch is at Chic-fil-A in Mt. Airy, NC (Mayberry RFD). We had to wait over 30 years for them to build one, so I eat there every chance I get!
ReplyDeleteLove to go to the park by the Columbia River and picnic.
