Woven Dreams

Are you a Blockhead? If you're not familiar, a dozen or so Moda designers all got together and shared quilt blocks each week for 54 weeks last year. If you are, you might remember the star I included in my series of blocks. After posting this ribbon star block, I had many requests for a lap quilt pattern. I simplified the block for traditional piecing and included it in my 20 Years of KTQ Block-of-the-Month quilt. The pattern for the lap quilt is one of the bonus patterns FREE with the purchase of the BOM, or can be purchased separately HERE. Now available as a digital PDF download.

I chose a Milestones Jelly Roll to make the stars scrappy in cozy shades of autumn. I love the tan prints and tone-on-tones in this line. One was perfect for a lighter background behind the stars and another added a warmer tone for sashing strips. I love it when the fabric works into my plan! We'll have my Woven Stars kits available soon, shortly after the fabric arrives. Retail price $109.95.

Here you can see the Woven Star block in the 20 Years of KTQ BOM. I had such a great time designing this quilt, I'm still using blocks from the quilt for projects in upcoming fabric lines.

Do you have a stash of KT fabrics just waiting to make this beautiful king size quilt? Comment here to win the 20 Years of KTQ pattern pack (retail $48.95) plus all 4 of the bonus projects, including Woven Stars.

  1. I do have a KT fabrics stash, but not nearly enough to make a king sized quilt - maybe a twin, lol! Love your fabrics and designs...here’s to another 20 years!

  3. I love this quilt. I have made some of your BOM. I so enjoyed your stories that went along with along with quilts. I liked them so much that brought the book and some of the patterns for a friend. I look forward to reading your stories to my granddaughter. I do have a KT stash, but not sure that I have enough for this quilt.

  4. I probably have a KT stash big enough to make several of your new BOM! I think I have 5 large totes of your fabric. Both my daughter and I are big fans. So when I find a shop with your fabrics, we both have to go and buy. I even use your fabrics in other patterns, too.

  5. I don't think that I actually sew with KT fabric...I've just been collecting it for the past 15 years!!! Oh my. I need to start using it instead of collecting and admiring it!! My next KT quilt will be a red, green, tan Christmas log cabin. Its been on my list for many years now. Thanks for this chance!

  21. Yes, I do have a stash of KT fabrics. They get their own separate storage area in my studio--the only area reserved for fabric from one designer. I probably have more than enough for a king sized quilt.

Now I have joined the Mystery Quilt Kit Club and have just loved the first two projects. Keep up the great line of fabrics.

Your Ribbon Star block is really beautiful & I can't wait for your Milestones line to come out in October. You are really keeping me busy, but I don't mind as I love having your colors scattered throughout my home. Congratulations on your 20 years!!

  27. I do have a stash, a big stash, of Kansas Troubles fabric. My quilt buddy and I have been collecting and sewing with your fabric since it first came it out. Had to laugh when my family in Arizona showed me a quilt they had made with Kansas Troubles and wanted to know if I had heard of it before! Thank you for all these wonderful years.

  43. I do have a Longaberger laundry basket full of KS Troubles fat quarters. They have spilled over into a Missouri Star fat quarter tote which is now full after purchasing some of the KT Favorite 2019 collection. I liked the woven star when I made it for the Blockheads quilt and it would be a fun quilt to make.
