Welcome to the Quiltmaker's 100 Block blog tour! I thoroughly enjoyed last year's edition of 100 Blocks and was pleased to be included with so many other talented designers with their innovative blocks in the 2nd edition. It's one magazine I'll watch for each year.
The KT block, Potted Posies #170, is a design I've been playing with for a while, trying to decide how much to piece and how much to raw edge applique. I settled on piecing it all except for the stems and flower centers because those are the elements that add to the block without taking away it's pieced simplicity. It can be arranged a couple different ways, as shown in the pictures above. It makes a great size for a wall quilt or table topper. The red and green color scheme is a natural for the holidays and work well into spring. KT's Wrapped in Paisley Christmas line would be a perfect fit for this holiday project. Send me a picture to post if you piece some Potted Posies for yourself.
The Wednesday giveaway is one last QM 100 Block magazine, provided by Quiltmaker. Check out all the blogs at quiltmaker.com/quiltypleasures. Thanks to Quiltmaker for all they've done for all of us participating in the 100 Block magazine.
See you tomorrow!
Beautiful quilt and love both designs. I want to do more piecing and need to practice more.
