KT Special for April
It snowed here in Kansas last weekend after temps hitting the 80's thru the week. Crazy! I don't know how to dress in the morning - t-shirt & sandals or a winter coat. Boy, do we all need some Fresh Cut Flowers right now. Our April KT Special is Fresh Cut Flowers' fat quarter bundles for only $99 (retail $135). Robert said we have a few left at this special price, so don't delay, order yours today.KT Winner
Congratulations to Bonnie58 - you've won the new Fresh Cut Flowers booklet and a box of scraps from the new projects. Thanks for commenting and helping me clean up my studio.
Bonnie58 -We
are still in a nasty cold snap which is supposed to hang around until
mid-April. I am getting desperate for spring. Thanks so much for
sharing. I love the new pattern.
U-Pick Flowers
When Moda first came out with Charm Packs, I challenged myself to design a small project using just 1 charm pack plus a couple fabrics for each of my fabric collections. It's still one of my favorite things. The charm pattern for Fresh Cut Flowers is especially fun with our KT Kut-ups precut fusible appliques. Traditionally pieced half squares create diagonal rows of color that offer the perfect backdrop for a Mason jar full of blooms. So simple, so fresh, so spring!
U-Pick Flowers Charm Quilt |
The name of the quilt was inspired by this wonderful vintage find - an orchard sign with wooden letters - U-PICK - on both sides. It hangs in my east windows in front of red/tan ticking stripe curtains. I love it! This morning the sun was shining (wahoo!) and creating a glare, so I laid it on the dining table. I'll try to get a picture of the whole window later.
Are any of you antique lovers, too? I have shelves full of vintage quilts and quilt tops that I need to edit/sell/share. In addition, I have quite a few 30-50's vintage finds that just don't fit into my KT theme anymore, but worked in the retreat bedroom at one time. As I have time, I plan to post items for sale on our website. Watch for the KT Attic coming soon!
Me & My Friend Quilt Retreat
If you're a quilter today, you know the name Jenny Doan and Missouri Star Quilt Company. I'm blessed to say Jenny is a good friend. We have such busy schedules we try to plan a couple of teaching events together each year to be able to hang out and catch up. We've been teaching on quilting cruises for several years and have openings on next year's cruises in March (more on that later). Diane Erickson, of Eternity Quilt Events, has organized a wonderful weekend for us at the Hilton Mission Valley in San Diego in September 2018. Take a look at this little video we put together on the last cruise.Me & My Friend Quilt Retreat
Interested in spending a few days with Jenny and me? We'll each have a trunk show of quilts and teach a full day class and a half day class. Plus, there are lots of options for fun activities in the area. Contact Diane for more information. We'd love to have you and your friend join us!
I love the idea of fresh cut flowers and the charm pattern. Thanks for being such a great designer.
ReplyDeleteOh, that retreat sounds wonderful! Bet it is a fun time, too! We are in the same weather pattern you are. It was 80 on Thursday and this morning it was snowing! Supposed to have a freeze warning out for tonight, too. I am so ready for spring and flowers!

It would be a blast to attend a retreat with you & Jenny !! I live close to MSQC & I was born & raised in Salina. Wouldn't you be amazed if I showed up in Bennington with Fresh Cut Flowers that I picked between Salina & Bennington !
ReplyDeleteWow what a great retreat! So sorry about the crazy weather. But spring is right around the corner :-)
ReplyDeleteI love the idea (and the sentiment) of your U-Pick project. That would make q great go-to gift or a day-brightener.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like the whole country is wishing for more Spring-like weather. I feel like we are on a roller coaster. My poor daffodils did not bloom this year because of the constant temperature changes. I could sure use some Fresh Cut Flowers to brighten my home! Thank you for the opportunity to win!
ReplyDeleteI like your idea of a one charm pack project per line! Makes it easy for all to have a few KT projects to display or a lot! Waiting patiently for warmer weather that stays here also! Thanks for opportunity!
ReplyDeleteOh Lynne, your new quilt pattern is so so delightful! The look at it makes my heart happy and I needed that today. Thank you!!!
ReplyDeleteWe too are having nasty, cold weather in the northeast. I don’t think spring will ever come. Fortunately, we quilters can make flowers! I love your flowers charm quilt! Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteI love it whenever you have a new line coming out. It gives me a reason to visit my favorite quilt shop. We're having bizarre weather, too--one day it's 88, the next day it's 38. My garden won't be flowering any time soon so I'll just have to use your Fresh Cut Flowers!
ReplyDeleteI would love to see flowers in bloom in my yard. It is still cold and snow flurries here.
ReplyDeleteSome of your spring flowers would sure brighten our home as we try to wait patiently for spring to really arrive!. Thanks so much for the opportunity to win some of your creations!!
ReplyDeleteWe had 2 warm days, Fri - 70’s & Sat- 80’s. Then Sunday dropping temps with chilly rain or downpours. I told my hubby summer just came & went. You are lucky that Robert likes old finds. And you are lucky to have quilting friends with whom you can have sewing retreats in exciting locations.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lynne . What a nice surprise this morning as i read your blog. I love the pattern and it will be so nice to supplement my scrap bag. lol. Stay warm this spring
ReplyDeleteLove the mix of lights in the u pick design. It encourages me to mix up my backgrounds instead of the same fabric throughout a project.
ReplyDeleteWhere is spring? Yesterday we woke to snow flurries that continued throughout the day. Your U-Pick Flowers is nice. Love the flowers in the canning jar!
ReplyDeleteI'm still waiting for Spring and flowers. I like the diagonal background rows in the U-Pick pattern. Actually, I like everything about it!

ReplyDeleteSpring weather! We had up to 70 degrees last week, then a blizzard over the weekend that dumped a foot of snow. Now looking at more snow on Tuesday-Wednesday. My poor garden has 6 inches of snow on top of it so the only flowers I will be seeing for a little while are Lynn’s Fresh Cut Flowers. Love the mason jar!
ReplyDeleteThe quilting retreat sounds amazing!
