If you're in our KT Collector's Club, you've received your Sweet Holly fat quarters, mini charm and charm pattern, Cabin Sweet Cabin. Robert has been busy cutting kits for this sweet quilt with traditional log cabin blocks and a few candy cane appliques.

Shine Bright (on the wall, left) was our June Special. It's a fun and easy Jelly Roll quilt for the holidays. The Evergreen lap quilt (right) shines with a forest of trees surrounding a starry center (lap quilt 68" sq.). The runner is on the mantel, and the pillow is tucked on the chair with my Christmas Cabin quilt. Christmas Cabin uses a Honey Bun (1 1/2" strips) for easy cutting and piecing.
Below the mantel is one of our tried and true quilts, Twisted, in Christmas attire. Layered Patchwork and our KT Wedge Template make this quilt a breeze to make. Perfect for the kids in your life - young or old.

I like to piece with any and all of the pre-cuts! Cutting yardage is not my favorite thing to do. My accuracy is so much better with cutting from smaller cuts. The Sweet Holly line is so pretty. Time to begin stalking the postman for the retreat kit and all of the Sweet Holly kits I preordered!! :)

DeleteI love making log cabin & small 9-patch blocks. I like using Honey Buns for them. I find it is always tricky cutting 1.5 inch strips. Your new patterns are GREAT!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I like working with precut strips, too. It takes a little practice making your 1/4" consistent with the pinked edges.
DeleteI have never used a Honey Bun - have always cut my strips from yardage. Now be the time to try it to get a variety of your amazing fabric. Log Cabin patterns are soothing and remind me of simpler times.

DeleteI have never used Honey Buns.... I don't recall ever seeing a pattern calling for them, so I've never been inclined to consider them. In fact, unless it's specifically brought up, such as in this question, I never even think about the availability of Honey Buns. Maybe the manufacturers need to start coming up with patterns calling for them; they'd probably sell a lot more! :-)
