20 Years of KTQ BOM - Week #18

KT Winner

Congratulations to the winner of the Star Cluster PDF pattern:

cannewa - Starch fabric before you cut, helps stabilize bias edges.

Thanks for all your comments on design walls, piecing, etc. The tip on using starch has helped me especially when I'm piecing smaller blocks for more perfect intersections.

cannewa, please send your email address to Kansas Troubles at lynne@ktquilts.com. Robert will email your pattern as soon as possible.

Watch my blog and Instagram for more giveaways in the coming weeks. Bittersweet Lane is due to arrive in October. Can't wait!

Week #18 - Goose in the Pond

Piece 9-patch and rail fence blocks. Make half square triangles. You're good to go!

This large block is simple to piece with traditional elements. Use what you've learned about half square triangles (HST) to piece the red/tan units.  Press the blue/tan 9-patch/rail fence strips carefully. Do not stretch the strips when pressing seams toward the dark for opposing seams.

Congratulations! You're ready to assemble Section #2. Lay out all the blocks and sashing strips, as shown. Piece each part of the section; note arrows for pressing.

See you October 15th for Flying Geese and assembling Section #3. We're on the home stretch!
