Clara's Garden Charm Projects

KT Winner

Congrats to -
Sitting here in Buffalo with 60 inches of snow - Please send me some SUNSHINE...Love your books - Clara's quilt looks like a challenge I can't resist! Checking my stash today...Judy R from Buffalo -
you've won a Clara's Garden Jelly Roll and booklet. Thanks to everyone for visiting my blog.

Seedlings

Our charm pattern for the Clara's Garden fabric collection is as simple (and addictive) as planting the first seedlings in their little peat pots each spring. We sewed rows of charm squares together, added borders, sandwiched the quilt, then appliqued the melons onto the runner as we quilted it. So fast, so fun, so cool! Add buttons from Hillcreek Designs that blend perfectly with KT fabrics for the finishing touch. We'll have button packs available in December when the patterns are done.

Seedlings Runner 22" x 53"
I loved the charm runner when Lois brought it back and wondered what it would look like done up with a mini charm pack. I think it's the perfect compliment as a pillow sleeve. Same technique, more buttons. Gotta love it! We're working on a template for the melon wedges - large & small - so check back here for more info.

I have quilts hanging on walls and adorning my couches and beds. I am particularly fond of the ones sitting there ready to warm me up when I'm at my computer though. Sometimes they have cats on them :-)

  8. I don't have many quilts to decorate with (yet). The ones I do have are draped on the couch or loveseat. I really like to make seasonal quilts and table toppers and placemats. When we get moved and settled, I'd like to hang mini quilts throughout the house. :)

I use quilts to hang on the walls, over chairs, on my tables (table runners), each bed, and I have some rolled and put in baskets and crocks. I have them everywhere. I have an open staircase where I have a flag quilt hanging.

  13. I hang a large quilt on my family room wall, add in a couple of wall hangings, three more folded on the rungs of a ladder, one on the back of a couch, repeat same sequence in the living room and Christmas quilts on the guest rooms beds. You can never have too many quilts. Table toppers are hooked rugs, not quilts.

  17. I have table runners on all of my tables (big and small); quilts draped over the doors of and piled in my primitive cupboards in addition to adorning chairs, upstairs railing and quilt stands and all of my beds. There is nothing better than curling up under a quilt on a cold-winter's night! They also help to make a house look warm and cozy! Nancy
