KT Winner
Congratulations to gyates625@bellsouth.net - you're the winner of the trio of pillow sleeve patterns. Please reply to lynne@ktquilts.com and Jamie will send them right out. Thanks to all of you that commented this week. I always enjoy reading your thoughts, but this week was especially helpful to see what you want to hear/see from me in the new year. It may seem that the life of a designer is terribly interesting and exciting, but believe me, just like you, I go to work each day and have to take care of piles of paperwork, emails and organizing what other people are going to do before I ever get a chance to sew - if at all! One of my plans for the new year is to sew a little every day, even if it's just a couple of seams in a block. I'm one of those quilters that feels like if I don't have time to make several blocks - or a whole quilt - it's not worth it. No more. Just the feel of fabric in my hands and the hum of the sewing machine is such therapy for me. I'm sure Robert will be relieved to hear it since I'm usually in a better mood after I've had a chance to stitch on something - anything - for a bit each day. In fact, once our mess of construction is done and the dust settles, he's suggested we piece together! Over the years, Robert has learned alot about quilting just being in the business with me and watching me teach classes. He's very knowledgeable about my methods and KT products, but has become more interested in a variety of quilting notions and techniques in the past year. And, since opening our KT Bernina Quilt Shop & Emporium, he's learned that he has a whole lot more to learn in order to answer our customers' questions like a "real quilter". Stay tuned to see if our marriage can survive quilting together!
Clara's Garden Has Arrived!
UPS dropped off the last of Clara's Garden precuts and bolts of fabric this week. We just love those guys! After Jamie & Joy open the boxes, remove the plastic, check inventory and fold the ends just so, it's time for me to admire all the fat new bolts lined up on the shelf. The ladies coming to our retreat this weekend are already calling to see if Clara arrived. I'm sure it won't stay this way for long!Clara's Garden on the top shelf; KT Favorites on the bottom. Don't they look great together??? |
I'll show you how our new wedge & melon templates make piecing circles with layered patchwork so much easier in the coming weeks. For now, I'd like to share a fat 1/8 bundle of Clara's Garden with you. Comment here for a chance to win!
The new fabric is beautiful and would be perfect for a spring table runner.

ReplyDeleteLove the rich warm colors of Clara's Garden. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIt is motivational for me to hear how you are going to sew a bit each day. I suffer from the same syndrome you mentioned-- but I am going to follow your example and set a goal to sew something too every day! Love Clara's garden so much that I have already ordered templates and patterns, but now just need the fabric to go with them!
ReplyDeleteLove how each collection blends.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful new fabric range. I hope it is not too long before we see it here in New Zealand. I am already scheming what I will make with it.
ReplyDeleteSewing and quilting are my therapy. That is what I always tell the ladies I work with. Even if it is only a few minutes each day. The new fabrics look beautiful.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fabric! Those are definitely my colours. Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteLove the Clara 's Garden fabric and that it is blendable with other KT fabric is a huge bonus! Can hardly wait!
ReplyDeleteIt seems like a common thread among quilters---we all wish for more time to sew! I hope you can find more time doing the things you love this year! Love Clara's Garden! And every time I see that quilt hanging in the center above your Clara's Garden fabrics, I swoon! I LOVE IT!

ReplyDeleteI think it is so sweet your husband wants to learn to sew quilts. I would call that love! And no worry, quilting is unifying, not dividing!
ReplyDeleteI am excited with the new fabrics too! I love gardening and these patterns and colors are enchanting! You are very talented!
ReplyDeleteLove this new collection! Can't wait to see it!
ReplyDeleteYour new line is gorgeous!

ReplyDeleteAs always, your new collection of Clara's Garden looks beautiful!! I also try to do some sewing everyday, sometimes it's only looking at a new quilting magazine or picking out fabric but it sure makes me a happy person.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to learn more about the new wedge and melon template. Love the look of curved piecing! Looking forward to seeing the new Clara's garden fabrics up close. :o)
ReplyDeleteLove the fabric.
ReplyDeleteI think it's so wonderful that your husband is interested in quilting. I am grateful that my husband is supportive of my hobby, although, when I think about it, I have been supportive of his hockey of interests for almost 40 years, so that does seem fair. Looking forward to seeing Clara's Garden!
ReplyDeleteAs usual your fabric calls out to me, I love, love it! In fact just yesterday I cut out a table runner using one of your lines!
ReplyDeleteClara's Garden looks beautiful. Love the colors!
ReplyDeleteClara's Garden is absolutely lovely. That's a great plan for you and your husband to piece together. Over the years my husband has been a great sounding board to help along my quilting journey. Maybe this year I can convince him to start piecing as well. Happy stitching!
ReplyDeleteExcited foe even more tools to play with!!
ReplyDeleteOh, I was looking at Clara's Garden on the FQS website last week. It's beautiful and I love it! :) I would love to put some to use.
ReplyDeleteSo ready for spring!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear Robert has plans to quilt! Wish my husband did but I'm not sure about doing it side-by-side. I might need a wall to separate Fred & me! Good luck and love your new line, Clara's Garden.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely. Can't wait for spring it's so cold and snow here in England. Is your fabric available in shops here or do I buy direct from you as I have in the past. Love your colours
ReplyDeleteLovely fabric! Thank you for the chance.
ReplyDeletethe fabric is so yummy. People always wonder how I get so much done...it is exactly as you are planning...a stitch here a stitch there and before I know it...a project is done :)
ReplyDeleteThis looks like another GREAT fabric line - your signature colors are my favorite!
ReplyDeleteThank you, thank you. I am looking forward to using the pillow sleeve patterns.

Clara's garden looks great. I can hardly wait for my local shops to get it.
ReplyDeleteThanks again.
I had the chance to see Clara's Garden on a blog post this week...sorry, I can't remember whose!...but it was definitely my favorite. I will love sewing up a beautiful quilt with it soon :-)
ReplyDeleteAs usual, the fabric is gorgeous. Can't wait to get my hands on some. Thanks
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see Clara's Garden at my local quilt shop. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteYou and Robert will be okay piecing together! My husband and I do this during the winter when he can't get outside to garden and work in his shop. Only down side is that I have to cut and press everything and he gets to sew! I don't get much sewing done sometimes but at least we are doing something together that we both enjoy.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful warm colors...love them. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteClara's Garden is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI've already bought my Clara's Garden booklet and melon template. I can't wait to get started on a new project from this book. The larger floral prints are just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to learning new skills with the new template. Love all of your fabrics.
ReplyDeleteLove your new fabric line and I especially love how all your fabric lines work so well together!!!
ReplyDeleteHI, what a neat new Collection !
ReplyDeleteHappy Stitching!

Your collections are always so rich. Love earthtones! I can empathize with you about quilting every day and it needs to be more than a piece or two. Some days even to fold fabric and smooth it is all I get but it's better than nothing! I would love to have my Bob piece with me, he's generally in his tool shed cutting up lumber. He is making a quilt ladder for me so that's good. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteRobert just made a 3'x9' quilt ladder for the store. It holds 6-8 lap quilts! Now that he's on a roll I think I need one for home, too.
DeleteOMGosh, these are just perfect for the quilt I'm working on. Love all of your fabrics as well.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fabrics, as always! Enjoy sewing every day. It sure makes my days better.
ReplyDeleteClara's Garden is so warm and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAm looking forward to seeing the new line of fabric and your new little wedge ruler.

I've been waiting for this to arrive! :-)
ReplyDeleteI think some Claras Garden would go nicely with my Butterfly Garden.
ReplyDeleteI have lots of "blooms" to make on a new design!
I hope your dear hubby understands what he is in for.
Remind him there is no "cure" for this quilting bug once you are bitten by it!
Clara's Garden fabrics are beautiful!! I always like to work on florals during this gray, cold time of the year. I always love it when my husband is involved in a quilting project - he has a great eye for color!
ReplyDeleteMy favoriteLQS had Clara's Garden right inside their front door yesterday. I'm personally happy that you didn't put any paisley in her garden...just not a "prairie" look for me. PS: Creekside Quilting (DSM, IA) always has KT fabs for me.
ReplyDeleteClare's garden is awesome fabrics. I love the new line.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a beautiful new line. I would love to add it to my stash of Kansas Troubles!
ReplyDeleteI love the new line - the striped pattern and the larger flower print! lovely!

ReplyDeleteThose are so pretty. I love KT fabrics! Thanks for the opportunity.
ReplyDeleteCeline K.
I love Clara's Garden! I even had an aunt named Clara. I love how nicely all of your collections go together.
ReplyDeleteFinally, the suspense is over - we all get to see Clara's Garden and it doesn't disappoint! It's just beautiful. I can hardly wait to purchase some and use my new pattern that my sister gave me for Christmas and the wedge that I purchased shortly after. Thanks for another fabulous design! Nancy
ReplyDeleteLove Clara's rich colors and patterns. Can't wait to see some more of your tutorials. You and jenny make one GREAT team
ReplyDeleteColors and scale of new fabrics beautiful. Another winner!
ReplyDeleteMy hubby and I are a quilting couple as I have probably told you and that makes it special for me. He loves quilts shop too ( well, probably not loves) and he is my hand quilter. We have been married 57 years and quilting has binded us in many ways, excuse the pun! Love the new fabric line, enjoy the journey together...
ReplyDeleteI really love the new Clara's Garden line of fabrics. All of your fabrics are very appealing to me!!
ReplyDeleteI have a few quilts made in KT fabrics but living in the uk I have little chance of getting to your shop, but knowing how good KT fabrics are I know I would never be disappointed with any line of fabric and look forward to topping up my stash with Clara's garden. It's just beautiful
ReplyDeleteAgain another beautiful fabric line!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see this beautiful fabric in person!
