Congratulations, Ladies! Please contact Jamie at 785-488-2120 to claim your gift certificates.
I was delighted to see so many of you chose to submit quilts using my layered patchwork method (more than 80%). I receive emails from quilters everyday who were hesitant in the beginning, fearing the raw edges would unravel or the layering would add too much bulk to their quilts. In the end, there are smiling faces all around when the quilt is completed with flatter blocks with fewer seams and easier piecing, more perfectly square quilts and fun frayed edges for a primitive look and cozy feel. Thank you to all the brave souls who've believed in my technique, tried it for yourselves and are sharing it with your friends. Welcome to the club!
In addition to the contest winners, the winner of the Loose Change book is Tonia Young. And just for fun, a Layers of Love book goes to Vicki H. Thanks to all of you who commented.
I have been a huge an of KT fabrics since your very first line, "way back when". I tend to design my own quilts, rather than using someone else's patterns though. So I guess what I would like to see more of is your "Inspiration/Design" process. And also, maybe some ideas for using and displaying our quilted treasures.
ReplyDeleteI can spot KT fabric from across the room. I'd like more patterns that I can do with wool applique----and possibly hook.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for my prize! I look forward to browsing your site. Thanks to the folks who voted for me. As for what do I want to see on your blog? you have it sorted, everything is so darn yummy! Happy creative day to you.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy the tut's that you and Jenny Doan do together. I like sew along 's and I like appliqué accents. I enjoy your blog and wish you nothing but the best for 2015.
ReplyDeleteI so love your fabric colours as they lift up my home. Please put my name forward for these cushion covers. It is nice to have a quick way to change the look through the seasons. Happy Stitching.
ReplyDeleteClever idea to make pillow covers so they can be swapped out with the holidays and/or seasons! LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of pillow covers. What a great idea.

I enjoy your blogs, especially the ones that follow your design process, which I find inspiring. I love designs with appliqué included and also enjoy sew alongs. The Kansas Troubles fabric ranges are favourites of mine and I always check them out first when starting a new project.
ReplyDeleteI love the tutorials you have done with Jenny. I love hints that quilters have to share, etc.
ReplyDeleteLynne, I think it would be really neat if you shared more photos of your quilts outside on the prairie! So for instance, you could share the 4 seasons. Maybe share with us a picture of a new quilt when the wildflowers start to pop up there? Also, why not show more pictures of the town you are from/where KT is located with some fun facts? I'm nerdy like that!
ReplyDeleteWhen I read a blog (and there are few that I truly read anymore), I love to get to know that person as if I had met them in real life. Maybe share more about yourself and hubby (of course, at your comfort level)? I'd love to know also how neat it is to hang out with Jenny Doan from MSQC! You and Jenny are truly my favorite quilting peeps, so I'd love to see more blogs about y'all hanging out and such. :)
I can honestly say that ANYthing you post on your blog would benefit me! You talent and creative genius is such an inspiration to love of quilting.
ReplyDeleteI would like to see more of where you get your inspiration .... from fabrics to patterns. Your pillow sleeves are beautiful and ingenious!
ReplyDeleteI would like to hear more about what it is like to he a designer, especially in designing the fabric lines. Where do you get your ideas? Do you have a quilt design first and then design the fabric to make it or vice versa? Do your followers give you ideas? Things like that. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI happen to love quilt tutorials. Anything that shows how we can speed up the process. I don't think anyone can have too many quilts and the quicker we can make them the better!
ReplyDeleteI like to see the photos of your quilts b/c I am very visual-I also like to see whats in the works as I love your fabric and designs- how about a mystery quilt???
ReplyDeleteI really love the pillow sleeves - thank you for the chance to win! I so enjoy your blog and I echo what Shannon Wallace said in her comment! Thanks for making my quilting days brighter and easier by sharing your talent!
ReplyDeleteYou hit the nail on the head at some of the initial misgivings about the layered patchwork method. I have to admit that I'm one with misgivings, compounded by the fact that I'm a hand quilter and am concerned about trying to quilt through additional layers. But it seems like so many are pleased with how that technique works ... I may have to just give it a try. ;-)
ReplyDeleteWould love to see more photos. Love to make your patterns- have made 4 so far and looking forward to many more
ReplyDeleteLOVE, love, love the pillow sleeve! Never thought about it before, but I love it!!! I enjoy your blog - one of only a few that I ever read, and I'd really enjoy seeing more of your quilts, techniques, and ideas. Kansas Troubles is my favorite line of fabric, and I like a few other commenters, can pick it out of any line up! My sister is always amazed when I say, oh, that's a KT and expecially when I even name the collection!
ReplyDeleteLove the idea of pillow covers, and these designs are so sweet.
ReplyDeleteI would love to see more quilts in progress, finished quilts and block. Seeing other people's work is very inspiring to me. Thanks!

You are one of my "go to" blogs with my morning tea. Love your fabric lines and gravitate toward them whenever I see them in a store or on-line. Your tutorials with Jenny Doan are wonderful; why not do some of your own and post on your own blog? Your patterns are EASY to follow but being a visual person I enjoy a good tutorial!
ReplyDeleteThe covers are cute!
ReplyDeleteI love the pillow covers! To Cute! Great idea...covers are easy to store and take up a lot less space than seasonal pillows. I would love to see more photos of your shop, inside and out. Get an idea what your part of the country looks like. What are your favorite quilting tools? Are you a perfectionist? or I'll make it work kinda gal? I love to watch u and Jenny work....Would love to see u and Bonnie work together.
ReplyDeleteI would like to hear more on the designing and production process, start to finish. I think that would be very interesting.
ReplyDeleteThe pillow covers are a great idea - love that you can change your decor when you want with something so simple yet pretty!
ReplyDeleteReally like the idea of pillow covers! I enjoy your tutorials are great!

I love your blog and thanks for asking for suggestions! I would love to see more tutorials as I am a novice sewer. I would also like to have you give directions for your pillow covers to for other dimensions, like 10 x 10.
ReplyDeleteAlong with your usual blog ideas (which I really enjoy) more new and innovative ideas like your pillow sleeves. What a great idea!
ReplyDeleteI love the ideas of pillow sleeves especially since you can mix and match your fabrics no matter what collection of yours I might be using .
ReplyDeleteAgree with Shannon! Your area of the country and your quilts are a good mix. Combining the two in pictures is just a wonderful idea.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of pillow pals! You don't have a bunch of "seasonal" pillows taking up precious storage space when you can change sleeves!
ReplyDeleteMore pictures of your works in progress = tutorials with pictures. And of course pictures of more quilts!!! Can't get enough of them! HUGS... and stitches
ReplyDeleteLove the pillow sleeves and really enjoy watching you and Jenny Doan on you tube. It looks like you have a lot of fun! I love the pics and would like to see more!
ReplyDeleteYour patterns are so easy to follow and I love the personal touch you give them, using grandkids names and stories. Wouldn't change a thing about the blog have a great year!
ReplyDeleteLove the blog and am sure I would love anything you throw our way. The pillow sleeves are neat!
ReplyDeleteI like your blog. We all love photos, more photos the better.
ReplyDeleteAlso, photos showing us "how to" - great!
Love the blog and your idea of more pictures sounds great. Also love hearing about your travels and such. Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteWould love to see more pictures showing how you progress through the design process. I tend to collect KT fabrics, but then have a hard time putting them to use! I prefer to buy kits that contain all the fabrics needed for a project. Maybe you could feature a "kit of the week" available to purchase from your shop??
ReplyDeleteWow! I love the Christmas one especially! Thank you! :)
ReplyDeleteMaybe you already have done this and I missed it, but I would love to know the dimensions of you pillow and how you make it so that I can make use of the pillow wraps.
ReplyDeleteI would like to see more quilts in progress and more about how you design new fabric lines. Also a mini quilt pattern would be nice. How about doing a quilt-a-long or a mystery quilt (wall hanging size)? Love the pillow sleeves!
ReplyDeleteI have been wanting to make some pillow sleeves - so I have my fingers crossed - I love the designs of these. I love to see on the blog more pictures - the are an inspiration to me and like works in progress and tips. thanks!
