KT Winner
Congratulations to Susan from PA. You've won the Crazy for Pillows book. Thanks to everyone who commented.Twisted
Can't believe I missed a week of blogging, but the after-market frenzy was almost as bad as the week before! We arrived home Monday night, unloaded Tuesday, and I picked up a grankid on Wednesday morning (school is out but no daycare until after Memorial Weekend). Next year's Christmas line is due, as well as final editing on two of our new projects for this market - Crazy for Pillows from last week's post, and a trio of layered patchwork projects, Twisted. KT's Wedge Template is featured in this fun, simple, strippy quilt perfect for picnics and porches, dorm beds and bunk beds. Just one Jelly Roll provides the wedges for all projects plus the background for the runner and pillow sleeve. Make the quilt as a gift, keep the other 2 projects for yourself - or keep them all!The wedges are cut from JRs, lined up on the tan background strips and topstitched. Two matching tan strips are sewn together, then sashed with the navy strips and borders. Looks like twisted ribbon to me! How easy is that??? For a longer dorm quilt that measures 54" x 78", just add borders to the top and bottom, too (option in pattern).
Twisted will be available June 1st ($8.95) from your local quilt shop or ktquilts.com. Spread the word!
Because I missed a week, let's do 2 giveaways this week! #1 - Twisted pattern plus the KT Wedge Template; #2 - a scrap pack of KT's new Heartfelt fabric. Comment here on your summer plans - vacation, gardening, quilting?
Stay tuned this summer for lots of fabric scrap packs as I clean out bins and drawers and baskets in my studio. Amazing how much I accumulate with 3 or 4 fabric lines a year. I swear I'm not keeping anything smaller than a fat 1/8 anymore, so the scraps are getting bigger all the time!
My daughter is getting married so it will be a busy and fun filled summer! Can't wait...bring it on!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance!!
Paulette

ReplyDeleteWe are watching our daughter play in softball tournaments, going to Montana to fish and celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary and hopefully I will finish hand-quilting my first large wall hanging that I made with wools and cottons. ReplyDeleteTwisted in my new favorite, Lynne!!! You've really outdone yourself this time! As for summer plans...I really have no idea with us living in a new country. Maybe explore around northern Japan, eat lots of gelato (yes, there's actually a farm that hand makes gelato every day!), take in the beauty all around here in the form of trees and flowers and such. Gotta enjoy the warmth because it gets very snowy and cold here for a long while!
ReplyDeleteDriving from FL to IA with my Dad and son to visit family, quilt shops and of course the Iowa Junk Jaunt in June. Then in July we are heading to Pawleys Island, SC for a little relaxation.
ReplyDeleteThis summer starts w/an outing, going to Nashville to hear a dear friend in concert! after that, who knows?! possibly screen in front porch, quilting projects . . . Jeannine aka j9knits
ReplyDeleteVacation, gardening, and quilting. But the most exciting part of the summer will be my daughter's wedding and playing with our son's new baby, our first grandchild.
ReplyDeleteI plan on relaxing, quilting, gardening, and feeding the humming birds. Thank you for the beautiful giveaway, the quilt looks gorgeous.

ReplyDeleteThank you for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteThis summer? MMMMh, a little gardening, a lot of sewing, good food, time to relax and a little bit of North Sea in the late Summer, that is our plan.
Greetings,
Sylvia
I am starting a BOM project this week, then a trip to Oregon in July for a quilter tour and to visit Sisters, OR for the 40th anv. of their one day quilt show. In Aug. I have a quilt retreat planned, and of course grandkids ball games, yard work & family and friend time.
ReplyDeleteSome gardening, a trip to the ocean, and hopefully a lot of quilting! Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI missed you last week! Plans for the summer: granddaughter's high school graduation, trip with friends, one daughter having knee replacement surgery and a quilting RETREAT!! Anything else that pops up, lots of quilting.
ReplyDeleteSummer plans? Whenever I'm not at the office I'll be piecing or appliqueing. Pretty much the same as any other season!
ReplyDeleteMy summer plans are having my granddaughter who lives in Iowa to spend the summer here in central Kansas on the farm. We have lots of surprises for her. She is 10 years old and has taken an interest in sewing so I'm sure we will be doing lots of fun sewing.
ReplyDeleteYOUR scraps, what fun! Will spend the summer gardening, and canning/freezing our 'fruits of labor'. AND spending time with family and friends.
ReplyDeleteI'm outside enjoying the fresh air, longer days, reading, feeding the birds and squirrels, riding cycles. When it gets hot, I'm inside quilting, knitting, reading and waiting till it gets cooler.
ReplyDelete2 memorials for my granddaughter, quilting, sewing, gardening, camping, stopping to breathe and enjoy family.
ReplyDeleteWe plan a staycation just to relax and also get some pesky jobs done that we don't have the time for. Thanks!
ReplyDeletePlease click on the delaineelliott above for my email link.
Oh, I so want to win, please! I will havecall 5 kids, spouses and grands under 1 roof this summer! And it is also our 40 wedding anniversary! This will be an awesome summer.
ReplyDeleteWe have a long time (40 yr) friend who was just diagnosed with ALS. He was given a year at most. This would make a great quilt for him.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the opportunity to win this.
Would love to win the scraps or the twisted ruler and pattern. Love your patterns and fabric.
ReplyDeleteTina
I am playing catch-up this summer, trying to get yard and quilting projects wrapped up so I can really enjoy my space instead of feeling stressed by all the work that is calling my name!
ReplyDeleteAfter being cooped up all winter, I'm hoping to spend a lot of time outdoors gardening, sitting on the porch and walking around the lake. The wedges really do look like twisted ribbons--so fun!!
ReplyDeleteMy summer plans include finishing projects for and awaiting the arrival of our mew grand baby due in July. The rest of the summer will include lots of loving on him! :)
ReplyDeleteI am retiring June 30 and looking forward to getting more quilting done; spending more time with my husband and grandchildren! I love the Twisted pattern; reminds me of a carnival ride.
ReplyDeleteWe will be attending a Bible conference in St Charles, IL this summer. And the rest of the summer, we will be driving around and checking out the country side in the 1960 MGA my husband restored.
ReplyDeleteI probably won't go on any long vacation this summer--maybe just a few overnights here and there. I plan to do lots of quilting though--a patriotic quilt, one or two Christmas quilts, and lots of small zipper bags for presents. I'll try to stay focused, but it's hard when I see new projects all the time that I want to try, like your twisted chain pattern. I really like to get started on Christmas early, though, as it's less stress during the holidays. Come to think of it, your twisted chain pattern would be darling using Christmas fabrics. So many ideas!
ReplyDeleteIf this is double please delete. Tablet acting weird. Foot surgery and get ready for two craft shows
ReplyDeleteLove seeing the new patterns you come up with! So far my summer plans include: keeping up with the garden veggies, quilt shop hop in July, an annual quilting retreat in August, day trips with my quilting buddies, and more quilting (would like to finish up some UFOs that have been hanging out in my sewing room).
ReplyDeleteLove the pattern and the technique. Your fabrics are my favorites! Thanks for the great work.
ReplyDeleteAfter 4 major surgeries since Nov, 2014, that kept me from quilting, I am SO looking forward to spending all the time I can in my sewing room! I love the twisted look!! It's on my list as of today!
ReplyDeleteI'll be spending time gardening and quilting quilts for others. Love your idea of only keeping larger quilts. Makes perfect sense!
ReplyDeleteWould love Twisted.
ReplyDeleteI'm making a trip to Marion, Indiana to see my friend Mimi Dietrich be inducted into the quilter's hall of fame.
ReplyDeleteNo big plans for the summer, as everything is on hold until the crops all get in the ground. This rain is getting really old! We have a pool, so hopefully the grand kiddos will be over to swim often. Thanks for the chance! HUGS... and stitches
ReplyDeleteMy plans for this summer are to visit my 96 year old father in California and to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary with a week on the Oregon coast with family,
ReplyDeleteGrand kids, great grand daughter, family outings and quilting retreats! My summer is full!
ReplyDeleteLove this pattern and of course the fabrics. KT is my favorite!
I'm going to be sewing my heart out! Five and Dime is cut and ready to begin assembly, and I am very excited!
ReplyDeleteI have plans similar to what you described, Lynn. Sewing, quilting, gardening and volunteering. The guild's annual show is in July and I've signed up for several responsibilities. I'm enjoying your Layered technique.
ReplyDeleteI seem to quilt more during the summer. Then in the winter I can wrap myself in a quilt as I am sewing down the binding. OK, so there might be a cat or two wrapped up in there somewhere.
ReplyDeleteI had lots of ideas for the summer, but my husband fell and broke his hip so looks like I will be the helper person as he recovers. Of course that always leaves time for some short sessions of sewing.
ReplyDeleteNadine Griffin
Love the twisted quilt pattern and scraps. WOW I want to make my son a quilt with the twisted quilt pattern.
ReplyDeleteI may get laid off this summer so will get to do a lot of quilting this summer.
ReplyDeleteI think just family stuff. I have two new grandsons and one of my sons is returning home after living halfway across the country and another is returning from basic training (Canadian navy). Good times are coming!
ReplyDeleteWe've been so busy we haven't had time to make summer plans! We took a big trip at Christmas and a couple small trips the past two weekends, so summer will probably be mostly spent at home. That's fine, we will avoid the big summer crowds.
ReplyDeleteLove those quilts you've shown here.
ReplyDeleteWe really have no summer plans, although there are a few shop hops starting soon that I just might want to take part in. If we do, then I might see if an online friend wants to meet at one of the shops since it is down near her town and we've talked for two years now about meeting somewhere since we've never met in person yet.
Other than that, we will be reclaiming our home again. One of my boys moved back home with his family temporarily, but that lasted about 3 1/2 years and they just let us know they are ready financially to move out and have found a place to live. This is giving me very mixed feelings because when they moved in, their daughter, was just 4 months old. We have been with her daily of course, for pretty much her entire life so far and it's going to be SO sad to see her leave because she's my buddy now and when Momma and she come home at the end of the day after Mommy's job, the second that back door opens she starts yelling Gramma, Grammmmmmmmmmmmaaaaaaaaa all the way through the house until she gets to my sewing room and gives me the mail and a big hug. I'm honestly going to miss her so much. She gets super excited when fabric (or in her case, it's FABIC) arrives in the mail because she loves pulling it out and draping it all over the place to play with it. But, at the same time, we're also going to be happy to have our nice quiet home back too. It's just a happy/sad thing they've moving. So once they move we'll be cleaning and moving things around again.
Gardening is in full swing around here. Quilting takes a back seat in the summertime since the season is too short. I still have quilting projects though, and DIY home improvement projects.
ReplyDeleteYard work and some quilting.
ReplyDeleteHopefully I'll be able to get some quilting done this summer. I'm recuperating from hip replacement surgery, and I don't dare sew or use a rotary cutter w hileon pain meds! YIKES!! I'll be able to soon! I also want to get a few things planted in the vegetable garden. Can't beat homegrown tomatoes! Love your fabric and patterns!!
ReplyDeleteLove the new Twisted Pattern. I can see that in so many quilts. Body, borders you name it. Not much gardening going on in my apartment. But hopefully lots of quilting.
ReplyDeleteMy plans always include quilting no matter the season. There will be lots of yard mowing, weed pulling and time with grandkids in between. A vacation depends on when the beans get planted!
ReplyDeleteIf my veggie garden survives the recent rains we've gotten(not complaining) I will be busy canning mowing grass and quilting! Love KT fabrics and can always use more!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fabric. I am loving that dark green with the branches and red berries or flowers on it. We are hoping to go on a beach vacation in NC this year. We haven't firmed up the details. powersjlc (at) gmail (dot) com . Thanks for the chance.
ReplyDeleteWe are trying to finish up some much needed yard work. Our youngest son will be moving out on his own and we will be officially empty nesters. We are also hoping to go home to NH to visit our families. Heartfelt is a gorgeous collection....as is all of your collections!
ReplyDeleteWe are going to Seattle to visit our son.
ReplyDeleteWe will be leaving Nj and moving to Montana at the end of the month. Our new house should be ready by then. I'll be setting up my new studio and unpacking all the fabric and projects I have plans for. I only hope I remember what fabric goes with which project.
ReplyDeleteAs much as I'd like to do nothing but quilt this summer, weeds need pulling and veggies grown. There are also a couple of trips on the horizon .... I leave next week to drive my mother to her 60th (!!!!) college reunion. We live in IL and she graduated from Wilson College (an all-girls college STILL!) in Chambersburg PA. Nothing like a road trip to find quilt stores along the way! Then in July we'll make a trip to the Chicago area to see my NC niece play in a Girls Softball Showcase. It was perfect timing as the Cardinals will be playing the Cubbies the few days before the softball games! I'll still be working fast & furious on my quilts in between all the fun!
ReplyDeleteHeading back to Iowa twice and planning on doing the Row by Row Shop Hop!
ReplyDeleteI'll be heading to Ohio to visit my mom, where we will be doing our own shop hopping, then I hope to spend the rest of the summer sewing. My list is growing!
ReplyDeleteI keep meaning to work on the house but end up in the yard. Purchased two cherry trees yesterday so I will be spending my time digging holes.
ReplyDeleteI've just moved back into my condo and have some major unpacking & rearranging to do. Sounds easy, but work I four 10 hour days a week, veg out on the fifth day, catch up on day-to-day chores, and am finding little time to actually relax, much less quilt! Still, your fabric is so pretty, who wouldn't want to add to their stash. ;)
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to doing some quilting, going to a shop hop or two and attending my mother's 95th birthday celebration. It is so hot here in the summers so staying inside to quilt is a "good thing."
ReplyDeleteSome quilting, some vacationing, and way more working that I would like to do! Your fabric is beautiful - goes really well with my Dear Jane project!
ReplyDeleteLots of gardening to do and I've got a full size scrappy quilt on the go for my summer project. When it's too hot to be outside my sewing room is a lovely place to hide.
ReplyDeleteNot sure what I will be doing this year, we have a very large garden and has been neglected for the last couple of years while we had some extended holidays. But I am sure I will find some time to quilt!
ReplyDeleteSummer plans include quilt retreat in June and lots of grandkid time!!
ReplyDeleteWe've rented a cabin at Lake Tahoe and will enjoy a week with our children & grandchildren - I can hardly wait!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to going to my local quilt show , a few antique shows , and enjoying my gardens , and my pool ... And of course some relaxing sewing. !!
ReplyDeleteI never quit quilting for Summertime - there's always a rainy day to do prep work, cutting and/or sewing. As I'm tapering off from every day quilting, your scraps will fit in with my own for some scrappy quickies.
ReplyDeleteI saw Heartfelt at Always Your Design in Dell Rapids, SD, yesterday I have to say I am in love! This might be the best yet. Thanks, Lynne.
ReplyDeleteWe just returned from San Diego and plan on visiting my brother in NY! I love sewing year around and plan on brining some hand sewing pieces with me. thank you!!
ReplyDeleteWell...I'm retiring in mid-June! So I'm planning to have more time for quilting and gardening and cooking and exercise.
ReplyDeleteI plan to spend the summer quilting with friends and spending time with the grandkids. We host a 4th of July party with lots of food, fireworks, swimming and catching fireflies.
ReplyDeleteI will be quilting, gardening and riding my bike this summer.
ReplyDeleteNice post, things explained in details. Thank You.
ReplyDelete
