It's almost time for Christmas!

KT Winner

Congratulations to the winner of our 108" wide backing fabric giveaway:

Dondi Murdock - I give away almost all the quilts I make so I am always behind. My skills aren't so great at putting pieced backings in the perfect position so the wide backings are fabulous for me in time and positioning!

Dondi, call KTQ at 785-488-2120 to select your 108" backing. I think you'll find it's the quality you've come to expect from Moda.

Gooseberry Sampler

I'm delighted to share that we have a few kits left for our 6-month BOM Gooseberry Sampler quilt (84" x 100"). All of the blocks have "goose" in the name to fondly remember the pair of geese that nest at our pond each year - Goose in the Pond, Geese & Goslings, Goose Tracks and Flying Geese. You can make this very merry project one "chunk" at a time along with me beginning in mid-July. We'll send the fabric for the quilt top & binding, booklet & KT Kut-ups precut fusible appliques for the holly & berries for only $200 plus $20 total shipping. In addition, if you sign up now, you can pre-order the backing for your sampler quilt at the May Special price of only $12.75/yd. and not pay until December!

The Gooseberry Sampler booklet also includes instructions for a wall quilt, runner and lap quilt to decorate your home for the holidays. Comment here to win a Gooseberry Sampler booklet. Do you like block-of-the-month's? Why? Have you ever signed up for one? I'll see you in a couple weeks after market.

  1. I love Blocks of the month but I do have a little trouble getting them finished if I do the month by month thing. I love having the pattern for the whole thing up front while I am all excited about making it and getting it done!

  8. I love blocks of the month! My LQS used to do a $5 quilt block of the month -- you paid $5 for the fist block, and as long as you brought it back completed, you would get the next month free. It was always fun to see the newest and latest in the shop each month! I love sampler quilts -- this one looks delightful!!

  11. Love, love, love the Gooseberry Sampler Quilt. Goose Tracks is my all time favorite quilt block. I do like BOM's. It's sometimes easier to find time to work on a block or two at a time as opposed to taking on an entire quilt. Before you know it, you have a quilt. I am working on a couple of BOW's right now, which are great for the warmer months when there are so many other demands on my time....yard work, Grandkids ballgames, etc.

  12. My block of the months start out good and strong but I'm so like Dory and easily distracted that I get off the track too soon. I love not having to think about fabric choices sometimes so in that respect, BOMs are truly wonderful.

  13. What a beautiful quilt! I like BOMs. I have participated in two. I am up to date on this year's and am working to finish up last year's (which has been a very challenging project). I'm also participating in the Moda Block Heads BOW and have some catching up to do!

  15. I really enjoy the BOM quilts & I am currently doing the Moda Blockheads - thanks for the alternative patterns! I absolutely love your Gooseberry Sampler quilt and all of your Kansas Troubles fabric! I've made several quilts using various collections & I love that I can mix & match them. Thanks for doing the giveaways!

  16. I have trouble staying on task and get easily distracted by the next big thing. That said, I love them and I'm inspired to give each one a little twist so that mine doesn't look exactly like everyone else's.

  17. I'm not able to do block-of-the-months because our APO mailing system is SLOW as molasses! :) Maybe once we return Stateside. I think belonging to a BOM would help keep me motivated, and "held accountable" to get each block done!
