Our giveaway this Charming Thursday is from our 3rd line for Moda, Prairie Moon, with it's distinctive moon/flower cluster on the feature fabric. I loved it then and still love it now. We showcased this collection and our KT signature block in a book appropriately named A Year of Kansas Troubles, creating a quilt for each month of the year using the KT block as the starting point. You can see from the examples that sometimes the block was left intact and sometimes parts of the block were used for a totally different effect. These are a few of my favs from the book that we're considering reprinting as single patterns since the book is now out of print. Anyone interested? I'd love your input on whether we should go forward with our idea. Each project would be in a $7.95 booklet. Any takers?
As always, comment before 10pm Sunday evening for a chance to win the Prairie Moon charms. Thanks for playing.
I think the booklet would be a great idea! I am in.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of the booklet =) Gives those of us who didnt know enough to buy a book a shot at having some fun too!
ReplyDeleteSingle patterns are a great idea! I've bought books where I only wanted one pattern from it. Single patterns gives me the chance to buy more than one for the patterns I really want to make rather than an entire book for just one. So much fun visiting Kansas Troubles Quilters!
ReplyDeleteI love the beautiful blues!! Making single patterns is a great idea!!
ReplyDeleteI would certainly be interested in the booklet! The patterns are so beautiful! You are very creative!
ReplyDeleteI think it's a good idea. :)
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of the single patterns. I don't usually buy the books when there is only one pattern that I like. This way I can pick and choose. Love your pictures displaying your quilts. Your studio must be awesome.
ReplyDeleteThe booklet sounds like a great idea to me too!
ReplyDeleteSingle patterns would be great.
ReplyDeleteI vote YES to single patterns!!!! This would be awesome and as always, the quilts are beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteI Love the idea. Missed out on some of your early work. Thanks for all the great fabric and patterns.
ReplyDeleteI think single patterns is a great idea! Sometimes I don't want to buy a book because it only has one or two patterns I want to make. It just doesn't make sense financially wise. But, this would fit the bill.
ReplyDeleteI like your January quilt, but then I'm drawn to blue and white. I'd love to see some of your earlier work.
ReplyDeleteI think that is a gread idea!
ReplyDeleteAll the patterns in that book are great. Think I got my copy at the Three Barns event several years ago and it is even autographed by you. It would be good to give others a chance to get some of the patterns.
ReplyDeleteNadine
I like the idea of the booklet. I'm still coveting some of these fabrics. Thanks for the opportunity to win some more.
ReplyDeleteMary

I'm always in favor of new KT books and patterns! Thanks for the generous offer to have a chance to win!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely - single patterns would be great.
ReplyDeleteI like single patterns!! I love all your books too! Prairie Moon was one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteYour "Prairie Moon" line has always been a favorite of mine. Single patterns are always good!
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE the single patterns as I never saw some of the originals - please consider it! Love January and July especially!
ReplyDeleteI like the booklet idea.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day~Becky
I like the booklet idea and I would much rather spend the $8 on an individual pattern that I really like, than paying $25-$30 for a book that might have one or 2 patterns in it that I really like.
ReplyDeleteI always like to see single patterns available - and I'd much rather go from the book to the pattern, than buy a bunch of patterns and then realize I should have waited for the book :-)
ReplyDeleteI like the booklet idea!
ReplyDeleteThe eye candy you display is all gorgeous! I agree that a booklet would give those of who didn't get the book a chance to catch up. ;-) Thank you for the fantastic giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI probably buy more single patterns than books.
ReplyDeleteI always prefer to buy single patterns over a book they take up less space and I get just the patterns I want.
ReplyDeleteI think it would be a good idea. Some patterns are just timeless classics. I liked the idea of a quiltlette for each month specific to its holiday or theme. That's what I want for my house, but just never get around to doing it!
ReplyDeleteI like good books but sometime are single patterns better ;-)))
ReplyDeleteYes, please, print them as single patterns. Great idea!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of single patterns, especially since the book is no longer in print.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilts! I especially like the golds and dark blue in the one for October.
ReplyDeleteI agree-- individual patterns allow people to pick and choose their favorites (and it's such a shame to let patterns languish just because a book is out of print).
I think single patterns are a great idea. Kathie L in Allentown
ReplyDeleteReissuing the patterns as singles makes sense. And, so does my winning some of your pretty charms. alternate email mlwright29 (at)hotmail(dot)com
ReplyDeleteThe colors are WONDERFUL, but as always your lines and colors are one my most favorites. Single patterns are always nice espically when you keep the price under $8.00. Karin E:)
ReplyDeleteI like all your colors. The October with a splash of orange is great too.
ReplyDeleteI think the single patterns is a great idea. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI love to see the old patterns come back. I am new to quilting, so still enjoying leftover patterns from my friends.
ReplyDeleteDebbie
Single patterns are nice. Thanks for the chance at the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteIt's a great idea to put the patterns out for those of us who missed your book. I'd love to have this pattern. I've fallen in love with your fabric so winning your giveaway would be a great b'day surprise. Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteAny way to make em a downloadable PDF one could purchase and print yourself? That'd be nice! Either way would be good. Thanks for another giveaway!!
ReplyDeleteI'm always very sad when books go out of print. It sounds like it reprinting in a single pattern might be a way to reintroduce an old favorite.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't a quilter when this book came out. I hate when a book goes out of print. Single patterns would give us a chance to make some of those wonderful quilts. Love the blue fabric and design in the January quilt. Many thanks!
ReplyDeleteThe July quilt is beautiful. I would definitely buy a pattern.
ReplyDeleteSounds good! I really like Januarys, would love to see more.
ReplyDeleteSingle patterns would be great. I really like July. Love these opportunities to win also.
ReplyDeleteI think printing the patterns individually is a great idea. I would be interested. The quilts are absolutely beautiful. Thank you for sharing with us. Have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteYour quilts are timeless....so the booklets will be a great idea. A great giveaway!!
ReplyDeleteI like the booklet idea too! Thanks for the giveaway. Dori
ReplyDeleteI would defintely buy it. Thnk you to Richard for getting my Red Brick Road to me and the extras that were put in also. Ironically, Prairie Moon pattern was one of the extras. Wonder if I have good enough karma to be so luck to get the prairie moon charm pack. I love July. I am looking for a Sarasota, Fort Myers or any quilt shops around the area of Venice FL that has Perennials. My quilt shop in Minneapolis has some of the line and I don't want to miss out on buying it I have to have this one also. Love these Thursday giveaways. Someday maybe I will get something. You are great!
ReplyDeleteI love the July quilt, and think the singles might be an inspired idea on your part! Thanks so much.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, Lynne. Go for it! That'd be awesome! I love the ones you've posted. (and does Robert get credit for the gorgeous photo of the July quilt?! very nice!) =)
ReplyDeletePraire moon...makes my imagination soar!
ReplyDeleteSingle patterns would be great. Love the fabric line.
ReplyDeleteI'm a fan of your fabrics and designs, so I agree with what others have posted. Sounds like a good idea to me.
ReplyDeleteI like having the single patterns. It gives me a choice of what to buy instead of having to buy a book, which costs more, with patterns in it that I don't want.
ReplyDeleteEllen
I like the booklet idea because it makes it more affordable. I don't get the opportunity to purchase books because of the cost, so buy patterns more often.
ReplyDeleteI like the booklet idea - it's easier to work with a pattern or booklet instead of a big book. I often forget what books I have because they are displayed on a shelf! I know that doesn't make sense!
ReplyDeleteDeborah - Valparaiso, IN
I would love to see the booklets printed. Thanks,

ReplyDeleteI have your book. I think printing them as individual patterns is a great idea.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of single patterns.
ReplyDeleteI think patterns are a great idea, would love to have the book, but if it can't be reprinted ,patterns are best thing.the next
ReplyDeleteLove the idea of being able to purchase a single pattern. Love the photos of the ones on the blog.
ReplyDeleteChar S.
I am so excited as I bought a Perennials charm pack and bought 1/4 yards of at least 10 colors in the reg fabric. I didn't buy the two blacks. Love love love it. I didn;t get a layer cake or jelly roll tho. Hope to find them. I bought in Fort Myers FL but for the life of me I can't remember the name of the shop. My GPS took us all over because there was a miss print in the address in the Country Register but one phone call to the shop got us on our way there. I was an happy camper today for finding it. Now I am up to date with more stash.
ReplyDeleteOh YES! Please DO publish the patterns individually - that's the only way I'll be lucky enough to own them!
ReplyDeleteSingle patterns sound like a great idea!
ReplyDeleteOh, I hope that you do the patterns - I don't have the book! It would be fun to do a whole year of them!! Thanks for the giveaway!
