Did someone say Christmas?

Christmas 2011, that is. At first, I wasn't crazy about getting next year's Christmas fabric at Thanksgiving time (especially if I had to find a machine quilter to finish a quilt over the weekend!), but now we're enjoying working with Christmas fabric during the holiday season. Shown above is our new Warm Memories fabric collection that will be shown in Jan./delivered in May. Lois and I are stitching up several projects for the Moda Christmas Playbook - deadline Dec. 7th. So far, we have a wall quilt with a pieced feather tree that is an Advent calendar with removeable wool ornaments, a couple of table runners and a pillow. We're still working on a lap version of the feather tree with raw edge ornaments stitched on. It's a great way to get into the spirit of the season.

The runner with the pieced ornaments under the swatches is for my sister for Christmas - this year - made with last year's leftover pieces from Wrapped in Paisley. She "stores" alot of my quilts at her house but I like to make something she'll actually get to keep once in a while. Her guest room is our home away from home whenever we're in Kansas City, so a runner now and then is cheap rent.

Have to keep working on quilting Cooper's quilt so it will be ready to show him on Saturday when we have our family Thanksgiving. I have to get the big black "N" on it, at least.

Hope you all have a safe and happy Turkey Day surrounded with people you love.
