Bound to the Prairie Charming Thursday
I know, I know, it's not really Thursday, but after a round of really mean storms Wednesday night, our power, internet, TV, everything was blown out for the day. We have lights and A/C now, but still no TV/internet at the cabin which, of course, is where all my info for the this post was saved. Oh well, starting over never hurt anyone.
Our charm pack giveaway today is Bound to the Prairie, one of my all time fav KT fabric lines and the 6th in the Quilters Journal series. From Piecing the Trail to Kansas to Stitches on the Oregon Trail and Bound to the Prairie, it's been a great adventure for our quilter, Lily, and her family on the Kansas plains, homesteading in the mid-1800's. While reading actual journals, researching historical events and creating characters loosely based on family members, it's been quite a process for me as a quilter to make the stories come to life. All six of the QJ stories are in a book - now just $9.95 on our website. It doesn't include any quilt patterns but is an easy summer-by-the-pool (or A/C) read. Leave a comment by Sunday night to be eligible to win!

ReplyDeleteBound to the Prairie was one of the first KT collections I started purchasing. I was drawn to it.

ReplyDeleteI love the Bound to the Prairie fabric line too...that may be the one that led me to "discover" you! Perhaps this will be my lucky charm!
ReplyDeleteI love Bound to the Prairie... but then again I love all your fabrics. I really like the fact that you can go from line to line and they all go together so well. Keep up the good work!

Love the colours in this line. Thanks. Wishing you sunny weather and a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteWhat a vibrant combination of colors! I love that spiderweb quilt. It makes me think of autumn-- always a good thing, but especially in this long, hot time of the year. Thanks again for another chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy your posts! WOW, I sure wish we could get some storms down here in TX. We need the rain badly. Thank you for the giveaway. It's grat to see someone researching the past, and writing about History and quilting!
ReplyDeleteLove the gold, ESP on the flower quilt. Very appropro for the season.
ReplyDeleteI see why this is one of your favorites. The spiderweb quilt is gorgeous. Thanks for the opportunity to enter the giveaway. The bad weather in my state abated just long enough this morning for the Atlantis Shuttle to launch from the Cape.
ReplyDeleteLove everything KT. I have a large collection!!!!
ReplyDeleteHope I win
Life in the country without internet really can be annoying. Love your fabric! Janet
ReplyDeleteCongrats on making the cover of Primitive Quilts and Projects. It is one of my favorite magazines. I don't remember the wool penny mat with Bound to the Prairie but I sure do like it. With the hand quilting on the top makes me think of my Mom's cherry pie. She always had lattice tops on her pies. I guess I need to go back to my club papers and refresh my memory again.
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Karen M
I love Bound to the Prairie, also. Your spiderweb quilt is spectacular. Thanks for the chance to win the charm pack! Have a fabulous weeken!
ReplyDeleteCan't believe it's the weekend again. We don't realise how much we use electric etc until we don't have it, hope everything gets back to normal soon.
ReplyDeleteLove to have my name in the hat for the drawing..
ReplyDeleteBound to the Prairie - what's NOT to love? And can I tell you how much that little candlemat tugs at my heartstrings? I don't know why, but seriously it's almost enough to make me finally try working with wool! LOL

I love the Bound to the Prairie line. Must be because I'm a Nebraska native.
ReplyDeleteLove all your fabrics. Thanks for the chance at your giveaway.
ReplyDeleteSome of my relatives were homesteaders and early settlers in Nebraska and Wyoming. Your Bound to the Prairie line is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLove history and the Quilters Journal series is on my "want" list. I have liked this line since I saw it at your "show" in York, NE. I would love to win it. Thanks for the chance.
ReplyDeletethanks for a chance to win - laurie

Man, we coulda used some of the 'milder' part of the storms--no rain here for a long, LONG time! Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI would so love to win. I have so many of your fabrics and patterns and I love using them.
ReplyDeleteLove Bound to the Prairie and all the other collections and I am sure Cattails and Clover will be no different. I just keep adding to my stash. Love the book, lotsa good reading. Yes being without the computer is like being shut out from the world. Thank you so much for sharing your stash. Greetings from up North
ReplyDeleteIt's another great looking fabric line! Thanks for a chance to get some.
ReplyDeleteWe rely so much on communicating with the world through our computers--hard to be without them! Bound to the Prairie has that warm and cozy look that makes you want to curl up under a handmade quilt and dream away.
ReplyDeleteI became intrigued with the Quilter's Journal series when I bought a Seeds of Time quilt kit. I really enjoyed how the journal told the "story" of the quilt patterns. I was immediately hooked and ordered the book from your website. I enjoyed the mix of historic events with the stories of the friends and family sharing bits of fabric and lots of love.
ReplyDeleteI have since ordered the other five patterns and the only trouble I have is deciding which project to start next.
Not only do I like 'Bound to the Prairie', the fabric. I really like the names you give your different fabric lines.
ReplyDeleteWith our hot temps ex. 105 and no rain here, our garden has become a "no show", and our AC went out last Sunday. Finally, late Wed. after a new compressor, we had AC, so I understand. I was trying to work on a quilt but gave up. Just frustrating. Love your colors and designs. Can't wait to receive my copy of "Primitive Quilts and Projects" with your quilt on the cover.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear of your weather conditions. It's been a rough year all over. Hope you'll be back to normal real soon. Love Bound to the Prairie, but then I love all your collections. The candle mat in today's post is adorable and just my colors. (But really, I only want it if it comes with the piece it's sitting on!) Thanks for offering the charm pack prize.
ReplyDeleteI was in Paducah this year for the show and was without power from Monday-Thursday afternoon. I fully understand what you're going through. The worst was not being able to shower, see the news or connect to the internet. Funny how we need computers today as much as a sewing machine ;-)
ReplyDeleteRenee
Another beautiful fabric line! I would love to win the charm pack. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI love the candle mat and of course all of the KS fabrics. I'm trying to get them all!
ReplyDeleteDeborah from Valparaiso, IN
I love your fabric designs! We had the heat in Salina too and I was praying the ac wouldn't die! My grandmother came to Nebraska in a covered wagon and your fabric always reminds me of my heritage.
ReplyDeleteLove all of your fabrics. Thanks for the chance to get more!
ReplyDeleteI really like the table topper, I am thrilled to have found your website and blog.
ReplyDeleteI'm late to the "Kansas Troubles" party, but I am wholly smitten! Can't wait to read the quilter's journal series. Your projects are stunning!
ReplyDeleteI never get tired of stories about the prairie and the women who made it their home. The fabric is a favorite of mine, too. Hope the storms have passed there, although the rain is good.
ReplyDeleteI would love to win the charm packet Bound to the Prarie. COngrats on the magazine cover. Thank you for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteMary
Hope all is getting back to normal after your stormy weather. As a new quilter I remember purchasing Bound to the Prairie jelly rolls for a class I was taking. It's still one of my favorite lines.
ReplyDeleteI loved reading about Lily and her family. Thank you for the stories and beautiful fabric to gowith each one.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to win the Bound to the Prairie charm pack!! I love all 3 patterns too! KT is my favorite fabric line, but I sure have a hard time finding it! I've ordered patterns from you and I can't to use them! Congrats on the magazine cover and thanks for the chance to win!! Bev E
ReplyDeleteLosing electricity can be so frustrating considering so much of our lives depends on it. I'm thinking a treadle machine would be a good investment at those times. And a charm pack would sure come in handy too!
ReplyDeleteAmanda
Oh my goodness - that "circle" quilt is quite fantastic, as are the others....but that particular one!! Wow! Are patterns available for these quilts?
ReplyDeleteBoound to the Prairie!!! Woohoo! One of my all time favorites. Thanks for the opportunity! But then all of your groups are my favorites. lol
ReplyDeleteI love the look of this Charm pack... so many times you need the lights to contrast the beautiful dark fabrics. Thanks!
