Flannel Days - computer generated quilts

After messing with this for way longer than it should have taken, I finally got the Flannel Days cover to download - wahoo! Sometimes I'm so frustrated by all the technology, but it's also a lifesaver at times. Case in point - this quilt doesn't actually exist yet. I haven't received any of the fabrics from the Flannel Days collection, but the pattern is due NOW. What to do? Use fabric images scanned into the computer to make a digital quilt. It's not quite the same, but it definitely works in a pinch.

I'm intrigued by all the gadgets and whatnots that my kids can't live without and even purchased an iPad a few months ago. I really like having my life on the calendar and surfing for recipes, etc. but I don't really feel I'm utilizing it to it's capacity. What are some of your favorite apps? What do I need to learn to do on my iPad? Any suggestions out there, ladies?

  1. If you are a "reader", you might want to download the free Kindle app and the free Nook app. The blog Books on the Knob features free e-books available in different e-book formats. There is also a app for blogging from the Ipad, but I can't remember the name. There is also a free App with the quilts from the Red and White quilt show. It's listed as Infinite Variety. Have fun!

  3. This Flannel Days quilt looks great. I'll have to put it on my bucket list. As to an iPad, I don't have one - have enough trouble with the computer and don't want to aggravate myself with anything else. (I'm too old for that). I'll just keep quilting away!

  4. I think you did a great job with the cover, could have fooled me, thought it was a real quilt.

  7. My favorite apps:

    iBooks
    Angry birds
    Facebook
    HBO Go
    Weight watchers
    Betty Crocker cookbook
    And several quilting apps

Most of the apps are free. I use my iPad mostly to read my email, surf the web and play games. I usually surf the net during commercials. I didn't think I needed one but DH bought it for me. Now I don't know how I lived without it
