By the time you read this, I'll be on the road to visit the Threads of Friendship Quilt Guild in Bloomfield, IA, then on to Quilt 'n Kaboodle in Cherokee, IA. When I return home, my granddaughter, Aleece, will be visiting for a week while her parents get settled into their new place. I plan to get a little pool time in and help her make a small doll quilt she's had laid out on the floor.
For this week's Charming Thursday, Autumn Journey takes center stage. I love the colors of fall and try to incorporate the browns and pumpkins into the classic KT red, green and navys each year. My Mom loves to decorate with leaves, so this quilt was created as a Christmas gift for her several years ago.
This fast and easy Irish chain starts with a Jelly Roll with scattered raw edge leaves. We actually have a couple of kits for the lap size (above) that were unearthed while reorganizing this summer. Isn't it amazing what you can find tucked away? Just email me directly if you're interested. We'll have more goodies on the website later next month, including Christmas on sale in August.
Oh yes! We also have kits for the Summer's Last Bloom quilt on the cover of Primitive Quilts magazine. If you haven't experienced it yet, you can get one at ktquilts.com and check it out.
Expect pics of Aleece next week!
This is a gorgeous pattern. The autumn is my favorite season and this is a wonderful quilt for that season. Thanks for the giveaway! Lana

Enjoy your trip. That's a beautiful quilt - I'm really looking forward to Fall after such a hot summer.
ReplyDeleteFall is my favorite time of the year, and love fall colors. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteReceived my copy of "Primitive Quilts" yesterday. Wow, lots of projects including your 'showcased design' to complete. I am thinking fall, so I can stay mentally 'cool' in this 100+ Northern Oklahoma summer. Love your designs, plus I even took a copy PQ current magazine to my local quilt shop today to sell them on offering copies. 'Hope' is all I can say. Love the fall colors.
ReplyDeleteA whole week with your granddaughter! Can life get any better? Have fun!
ReplyDeleteI love the fall quilt.
Beautiful quilt! Enjoy your granddaughter! Thank you for the charming Thurs. giveaways!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the charming giveaway and photo journey. Little ones are always fun to be around so enjoy your grandma time!
ReplyDeleteI love fall with all the color changes. Autumn Chain is a beautiful quilt. Hope you have a great time with your granddaughter.
ReplyDeleteLovely quilt! I am such a fall person, and the leaves and chain pattern are beautiful. Primitive Quilts...hum, didn't know about that magazine and will get a copy soon! Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat fall quilt. I love the colors, ESP. The pumpkin and gold.
ReplyDeleteAh, more beautiful autumnal colors! They are my favorites, too, which is probably why our living room is decorated in them. I think the room needs more pumpkin/orange, though. Orange is one of those colors that has grown on me over time. I like it more each year!
ReplyDeleteWonderful quilt for the fall and love the one in the magazine, going to need more time so I can make all the projects. Have a wonderful time with your grand daughter.

Have fun on your trip. I've had 6 of my 8 grandkids for the last 2 weeks. Lots of fun, but really tiring. The pool wears them out, so that helps. Enjoy your little one. I can't wait to quilt with my grandkids.
ReplyDeleteI got my new magazine too - it's totally awesome! Love all the fall projects - the colors are so warm and cozy!
ReplyDeleteThe fall quilt is beautiful and a wonderful addition to fall decorations. Enjoy your trip and have fun with Aleece.
ReplyDeleteI love how each leaf is framed, so it can be admired for its particular shape. I think the Iris chain mimics the sweeping paths of falling leaves. Love the rich colors in this quilt. Can't wait for fall!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful quilt!!! The fall colors are so rich and warm, perfect for a chilly fall day! I hope you have a wonderful time in Iowa, enjoying the shops and meeting more quilters :). Such fun to have Aleece to look forward to, I don't have grandchildren yet but I'm excited for the time when I do!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely name-Aleece! Being a grandmother is the tops! I am thrilled to have time with my 4 grandbabies. Have a wonderful visit with her. Looking forward to the pics.
ReplyDeleteAutumn is my favorite time of year as it produces my favorite color palette. I haven't tried the Irish Chain pattern but it looks like I'll be adding it to my "to do" list!
ReplyDeleteI love fall colors in the fall, winter, and sometimes in Spring and Summer. Keep your great ideas coming.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your day in Cherokee with Quilt N Kaboodle very much. I want to thank you for the
ReplyDeletejelly roll I won for a door prize. The day was
so much fun.
