A Flannel Days charm pack & pattern will go to the winner of the this week's giveaway. If you haven't cuddled with the new flannels, you've missed out! I was so thrilled with the feel of this fabric, but of course, it's come and gone in most shops already. Moda was unable to precut charms at the mill, so we've cut one just for this week's winner. I'm hoarding most of what I have since several of my kids have requested quilts made with this line. Even for quilt backs, it's positively yummy!
We created a simple project to showcase the flannels and keep it from getting bulky in the seams. It's amazing how "fluffy" the quilt feels!
Cheryl Ross from Heaven on Earth quilt shop in Wabash, IN made the quilt and is in Houston at Festival with a load of KT quilts and patterns. Check with her if you're interested in a kit.
Here's a look at one of the new quilts from market, Bird's Eye View, our block-of-the-month for next year. Each of the blocks was selected because of it's historical bird name, such as Hens & Chicks, Dove in the Window, Circling Swallows and Hovering Hawks to name a few. The wool & cotton appliques, buttons and stitchery add personality and dimension. So much fun to see it come together. For those of you who make KT Favorites-10 Years & Counting last year, this project is a breeze!
Watch each day thru the weekend for a new quilt/project and a peek at Sandhill Plums, available in your local quilt shop in February 2012.
Question of the day: Do you enjoy block of the month projects? What's the last one you made?

The flannels are gorgeous! Very prim and fallish - LOVE them. ~Ann
ReplyDeleteI do enjoy block of the month quilts. The last one I started earlier this year but haven't finished the sashing, etc. yet. It has black and white blocks, but you could put in a splash of color in each block if you wanted, so I did double the blocks and put red in some and blue in others. It will be an American Heroes quilt to go to a recuperating wounded warrior at Joint Base Lewis McChord near Tacoma, Washington when i finally get it done.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flannels and you're kids are really lucky to be getting quilts made from this line! Haven't done a block of the month quilt yet.
ReplyDeletePat F. in Jamestown, NY
Love the flannels. Perfect for cuddling up with this fall.
ReplyDeleteThe flannels are beautiful. I only did one block of the month and it was through a local quilt shop - a santa wool quilt.
ReplyDeleteThe flannels are just gorgeous! They looks so soft.
ReplyDeleteRight now I am working on Barbara Brackman's CW BOW. I enjoy making BOM quilt. Last year I did a BOM with our guild. I brought your KT Favorites BOM, but haven't started it yet. I have made some of your other BOM type quilts. Love your new one, Bird's Eye View.
Those flannels look luscious and the patterns are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteBOM - the last one I did was "All Through the Year" by Prairie Grove Peddler.
I do like BOM because I love a deadline. But I need another deadline to finish the quilt!!
ReplyDeleteI'm getting in the mood to sew some flannels, weatherman predicting some cold weather. Love all your fabrics.
ReplyDeleteI started making a block of the month with some quilting friends, but I never finished mine. I do love working with flannel, and I am making two baby quilts from flannel as I write ;-)
ReplyDeleteLove your flannels; love BOMs. I'm signed up to start your 10 year BOM in January. Congrats on being on the cover of Primitives magazine, yet again. I think that quilt would be great in flannel! Last BOM was Henrietta whiskers by Anne Sutton... janet
ReplyDeleteLove the flannels. I have done a few block of the month quilts. I enjoy trying new blocks. One of my favorites is one I did in 2001-02. A few friends decided to try a patriotic one at a local quilt store. We each dedicated our quilt to 9-11. It was also the beginning of our quilt group that now meets on a regular basis including retreats a few times a year- good therapy and great friends!!!!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy doing a block of the month occasionally. I am presently finishing Women of Influence. It is half pieced and half applique. I thought it was a good opportunity to try hand applique. Love these flannels!
ReplyDeleteI tried some free block of the months, but then lost interest. I tend to quilt in spurts, so I might do a lot one, week and less in another, so I like to have the fabrics and pattern all at once, so I can do more when I want to.
ReplyDeleteLove the idea of a warm flannel quilt, getting cold now.
Debbie
These quilts just made me happy. I haven't done any block of the month things so I don't know. I love the flannel days quilt.
ReplyDeleteLove your flannels - they look so cozy.
ReplyDeleteI've done several block of the month quilts, and a few block of the week quilts. I like them - it's nice to have a little feeling of accomplishment every month, and then it all comes together pretty quickly at the end.
Wow, these are gorgeous! I have not done any bom but have been tempted so many times! I am making comment #17 and I consider it my lucky #. My husband and I were married on the 17th and have been married 34 years. Wish me luck.
ReplyDeleteCan I just say that I LOVE your line of fabrics and the flannels have got me itching to make a quilt with them! I have done a block of the month but havent finished it... it is the Girl I left behind from Quilters Quarters in Leavenworth KS! ~Charlene
ReplyDeleteOoh, flannel! So cozy! I'm working on my very first BOM now - ask me in a year if I'd do another. :)
ReplyDeleteI have never done block of the month!! Thanks for the giveaway. Linda
ReplyDeleteI just got into BOM last year and have yet to complete or even start one of them! But they are pretty cool. Love flannel.
ReplyDeleteLOVE block of the months projects! It's nice because you have a whole month to get the block done, and then look forward to the upcoming block! :-)
ReplyDeleteLOVE that flannel fabric-- it not only looks nice and cozy-- it *IS* nice and cozy! :-)
Oh, I would love to play with those flannels!! We had our first bit of snow on Halloweeen and the temperature has been dropping ever since. So it's time to snuggle up and be warm doing some fun stitching!
ReplyDeleteConny from Red Deer, Alberta
I love BOM's and am currently working on 3 different ones. My favorite is the KTQ quilt. I love the fabrics and colors. I found a box of 2 1/2 inch squares of your fabrics and am sewing them together to use my new Twister ruler and make a table topper. Such fun. Also doing General's Wives and Jan Patek's Bible Mystery. Love to make quilts.
ReplyDeleteI love to quilt with flannels. The BOM I'm working on now is from Barbara Brackman's Civil War series. When I do BOMs it reminds me of school, I feel like I have a deadline to get it done. Then it doesn't become an unfinished project :) SWarren
ReplyDeleteI love the warm colors in those flannels!
ReplyDeleteI've yet to start a BOM quilt, but I know my mother likes them. They do seem like a fun way to try out a variety of techniques. They'd be ideal for the easily bored or distracted, too, since every month is a fresh start.
Flannels are beautiful. Thanks for cutting a giveaway for us. I love BOM's but I seem to collect them more than finish them! Right now I'm working on a wool applique by Kaye Moore.
ReplyDeleteI'm not entering the giveaway as I just won last week... but I do have to say how warm and fluffy these flannels look! Just might have to check in with Cheryl from Heaven on Earth to see if a kit is available!
ReplyDeleteI have never done a BOM pattern. Love the flannel days pattern and fabrics :)
ReplyDeleteYummy Flannels! Yes, I am currently doing the BOM from my guild. I have done two through the Country Loft. They involve a clever method of embroidery.
ReplyDeleteI've not done a bom yet but am interested in doing one maybe soon! I love that Bird's Eye View quilt. If I did a BOM I would need to do it with someone else so I don't lose focus and I think I'd stay on track better. The flannels are beautiful and who in WI doesn't love a flannel quilt in the winter?
ReplyDeleteLOVE THE FLANNELS!
ReplyDeleteTHANKS!
Our group just started a block of the month quilt.
ReplyDeleteI love your flanels although I never worked with them.
Greetings from Holland, Janny S.
Love flannel! I like to do BOM's because it keeps me on task. ;-) I am doing a couple now and enjoy the time I spend with each one.
ReplyDeleteIt was called Shabby Rose from Jenny in Australia. It was applique and embroidery, I really enjoyed the change and still have to put it together. Can't get it in my mind yet??
ReplyDeleteMaggey
I've seen plenty of BOM projects that appeal to me, but I don't order because I don't want to pay the extra shipping cost. I did recently see one which offered shipping in one package. That's a good idea, then I could perhaps make one block a month.
ReplyDeleteFlannel Days is such a pretty line of fabric. I am currently doing a BOM from Primitive Gatherings using wool. I love to applique wool!
ReplyDeleteI have a hard time finding flannel prints that I like but I really love these:) I would love to have a quilt from them to snuggle in while watching TV or reading on the porch:)
ReplyDeleteI love your flannels, I hope you continue to have flannels in your future lines.
ReplyDeleteFlannel truly is the fabric for this time of the year. :) I love how Fall-ish, and country-ish the colors are... :)
ReplyDeleteLove your flannels! I like to do block of the months - it seems that is all I have time for lately. I am currently doing The Cotton Club.
ReplyDeleteI adore your fabrics and always have! I am in a few BOM clubs right now...the blogger's BOM, one offered by a quilt shop, and several blog quilt alongs that are every week and/or every two weeks...I like the concept of always having a project to work on...sometimes I want to sew, sometimes I want to cut, and sometimes I want to quilt...a BOM keeps me with project in hand!
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Hi Lynne, I have done some BOM's in the past, one was a Baltimore style. I have some BOm's printed and saved for when I finish my UFO's , perhaps PHD's sounds better? "projects half done"-LOL.
ReplyDeleteI am working on some redwork stitcheries at the moment- a block of the week. :)
I just worked on the last 3 blocks of the Thimble Berries Quilt for this yr. all day today at my LQS.(my back is killing me)! LOL
ReplyDeleteI'm almost finished w/a lap size quilt using one of your patterns~Five and Dime and really had fun w/it.
I would love a chance to win. Love your flannels and other fabrics!
Tanya
I am using the flannel collection to make the quilt on the front of the new issue of Primitive Quilts and Projects....I think it is great that KT was on the front cover 2 issues in a row.
ReplyDeleteI do like BOM's but haven't finished any yet. I've started one with snowmen and one with baskets. And I have a bagillion free ones saved on my computer LOL
ReplyDeleteOur little quilting group announced we will be making an upcoming quilt project requiring several different flannels. Since I have not worked with flannels, I have none in my stash, so if I win these gorgeous flannels, they will be put to good use making the quilt. I really like your pattern Flannel Days!!! Thanks for the giveaway! Lana
ReplyDeleteI love flannel! and KT flannel would be great :) thanks for a chance to win - laurie
ReplyDeletellsbaskets@comcast.net
Love the flannels - they are so soft. Thanks for the chance! The last BOM I did was one offered by our LQS - I don't know the name of it.
ReplyDeleteI love to use flannels on the backs of my lap size quilts. Your flannels are beautiful. BOM are fun. I don't remember the name of the last one I did.
ReplyDeleteThe KT flannel would be a great backing for quilts. I do like this collection and thanks for the opportunity to win some. I normally do not participate in BOMs due to my impatience of wanting to work on my own timetable and not wait for the next installment.
ReplyDeleteWorked on a block of the month quilt a while back at a local quilt shop. Sadly the shop closed. I do enjoy block of the month projects. Thanks for the chance at your giveaway ~ your flannels are cuddly warm looking.
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to make a quilt with your flannel!!! I'm in the mood to make a 'hugging' quilt! Flannels give you such a great hug! Here's hoping I win!
ReplyDeleteFlannel is just the best to make quilts from. I've been using flannel on the back of my quilts for years, it makes 'snuggling' with a quilt so much better.
ReplyDeleteI don't like BOM quilts if it's a design I really, really, really like........ because I just want to getin & male it at my own pace
Ohh, I would love to have those flannel charms. Would make a lovely mini quilt! KT flannel must be amazing. They definitely look beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI would soooooooooooo love to win these flannels. You are my favorite designer and I bet the flannels are fabulous!
ReplyDeleteOh flannels! yum, yum and MORE yum!!!
ReplyDeleteI am thoroughly enjoying working on KT Favorites-10 Years and Counting. It is my first ever BOM and I am having so much fun doing it. Sometimes the blocks don't come fast enough. Flannel Days is a beautiful quilt. I would love to make it. It looks so warm and cozy.
ReplyDeleteI love BOM quilts, but decided to purchase 10 Years and counting as a kit. I'm finishing up Women of Influence now. I love Bird's Eye View.
ReplyDeleteI love, LOVE BOM's :D The last one I made is the one I am still making, which is your very own 10 Year...BOM. I am loving the monthly fabrics...the colors, the feel, the patterns. My local quilt shop that carried alot of your fabrics closed last year, so I am very happy to have the chance of winning your flannel charms. OhhAhhh, more fabric to cariss ;)
ReplyDeleteI've only completed one BOM, however, I do like them. Life just seems to get in the way and the blocks get set aside to be finished 'later'. I have at least 2 tops in stages and patterns to finish the rest of the blocks. I've not ever made a whole quilt with flannels, so I'd like to try your pattern with those charms. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI have never done a BOM, afraid to commit because of my health, but.....I finally gave in and will be doing my first one starting this month. it is from the KCStar collection via Fat Quarter Shop. I love the flannel. Thanks,
ReplyDeleteLove your flannels and patterns today. My absolute favorite is Bird's Eye View. Will be watching for that one. And I am another who has never completed a BOM. I'm not a kit person to start with, and time management is not my strong suit. I love the freedom of choosing my fabrics. I could make your pattern into my own BOM.
ReplyDeleteI haven't made a block of the month, only qal's with a similar idea, and I enjoy them very much. I don't blame your kids for putting in their quilt orders from the flannel line. And I love the Flannel Days design.
ReplyDeleteYes I love BOM projects. The last one I did was one from Thangles BOMs. Your Bird's Eye View BOM looks fabulous. I'm a collector of flannels and brushed wovens and would love to find some of these to add to my stash.
ReplyDeleteThe flannels are yummy. I love them. The last BOM I made was large, 12, 12" block, appliqued Santa Claus seasonal quilt in memory of my mother who died on Christmas eve. I bring it out before/during/after the holidays. Renee
ReplyDeleteI love the flannels! What's better than cuddling up with a nice flannel quilt in the winter?
ReplyDeleteI've not made a BOM quilt in the traditional way. I'm more likely to purchase a complete kit all at once. I would get too anxious waiting for the next installment. I just finished a Lewis and Clark Commemorative quilt. Excited about the Bird's Eye View BOM - it may have to be my first traditional BOM.
ReplyDeleteThe last BOM I did was from Gail Pan - A Christmas wish. Made three of them. Thanks these flannels look very cozy.
ReplyDeleteI love BOMs - as long as I get to pick my own fabric. I almost always have one going. It's fun to have something "in the works" that has no pressure attached to it and know that you'll have a great quilt at the end... though sometimes it's REALLY hard to wait for the next month's pattern to arrive! I love your flannels - there just aren't enough flannels with nice prints out there. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI've never done a BOM. I guess I'm just not that patient and disciplined. The flannels look yummy! Thanks for another great giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI love BOM patterns. Last year I worked on four at the same time. That's a little too much!
ReplyDeleteI like BOM quilts. It takes me a year to make a quilt anyways so it's a good reason to take so long to finish.
ReplyDeleteI love flannels, and I especially love these colors!! I have never done a BOM. I really want to try one, I just need to find one that both interests me, and that I can afford.
ReplyDeleteYour flannels look very cozy. My last BOM was with a local quilt shop. I loved getting the fabric each month. Kathie L in Allentown
ReplyDeleteGood Morning... almost forgot this week to post. Thanks to my cousin for reminding me. Yes, I love doing BOM, or just samplers in general. Most of my quilts are samplers. I just finished up the Amish Shop Hop here in Ohio Amish Country yesterday. It was two long days. They do theres by picking a fabric line, so it is a mystery for fabric and blocks and quilt finished patterns. You can purchase them as they are shown or get the patterns and make it your own. I have always done it like theres. But, this year I just got the patterns and I am going to make it out of my beautiful Kansas Troubles fabrics! I need two more pieces and the backing to put with my scraps to get it started.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the opportunity to win your beautiful fabrics and patterns! Enjoy this first weekend of November!

I am a fan of BOM projects. I am a deadline kind of gal. The BOM's I've finished are done by the month and completed before the next package arrives.
ReplyDeleteThe 1st quilting class I took was a block of the month ( calendar quilts). Because it was a 12 month program I became better acquainted with the other ladies. I love the fllannel days fabric. I just finished the puzzle quilt and it's just in time for cold weather. I can't wait to start your block of the month.
ReplyDeleteI had forgot to answer about the BOM. I love doing them... but my samplers keep me pretty busy. I did not know about yours last year, but would love to do it this year. I just sent info to one of my local quilt shops. She had your 10th BOM. I am hoping she does this years also! Would love to give it a try. It has been a while since I did a BOM. No time like the present to get started again!
ReplyDeleteHappy Quilting...

I love doing BOMs, I'm always doing at least 2. Love the flannels.
ReplyDeleteThe flannels are great and warm too! Would love to make something special out of them! I made my husband a flannel throw last year and it is so warm and cozy! Thank you for the give aways and inspiration!!
ReplyDelete26 degrees outside this morning, time to make some flannel quilts!
ReplyDeleteFlannels are so yummy!
ReplyDeleteI love BOM projects. I have participated in several online BOMs-they have been so fun.
ReplyDeleteYour flannels are beautiful. There is nothing like them to cuddle under when the weather is freezing outside.
I've never done a BOM project. They look like fun though. I can't wait to feel some of the new flannel fabrics...bet they are marvelously soft.
ReplyDeleteI'm doing a BOM with my local quilt shop. We have two more months to go. I'm loving the blocks. Finally, I'm feeling confident enough to change some of the fabrics from the ones selected by the shop. Love flannels!
ReplyDeleteWhen will the new BOM pattern be available?
ReplyDeleteThe Flannel Days fabrics are so soft you will think you have a kitten in your lap. With out the litter box and feedings. We here at Heaven On Earth just love them and hope you have another line of flannels next fall
ReplyDelete
